Quarter Four Artwork - Max Amar-Olkus

Posted by Max Amar-Olkus in Art Advanced - Hull on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at 11:10 am

This quarter I worked on my photography, mostly. I also worked on some mixed media pieces. For the most part I like to think my photography is greatly inspired by painting and is composed in a way that makes some of the shots seem very painterly. The one painting I made this quarter was based on a picture I took of my little brother. It is just a portrait shot but I converted it into a stencil and it is very mysterious.

Q4 Shannon Powers Art

Posted by Shannon Powers in Art Advanced - Hull on Monday, June 10, 2013 at 11:25 pm

This quarter I spent a lot of time on my own art. Working off on my own to try and improve upon my style. I wanted to make the way I draw a little more unique to me.

Q4 ART-Julian Makarechi

Posted by Julian Makarechi in Art Advanced - Hull on Monday, June 10, 2013 at 8:49 am

My name is Julian Makarechi, a sophomore at Science Leadership Academy. This year I have decided to try to become a better artist by taking Ms. Hull's Advanced Art class. Lately her class has been focused a lot textures, furs, hair, cartoons and faces. The sketches posted below are the ones that I have been working on through out the duration of the 4th quarter. I used drawspace.com to help me figure out the steps to each of my sketches. For my outside project, I decided to paint a simple smiley face on a ceiling tile (a picture of this is also in the slideshow below). With the help of my classmates I was able to make this outside very professional and neat. Overall, I am very proud of my work this quarter and I feel like this class has made me a better artist.

Quarter 4. Finial Blog

Posted by Danielle Little in Art Advanced - Hull on Monday, June 10, 2013 at 8:47 am

To end quarter 4, we finalize the Draw Space Unit. Focusing on different textures and different techniques. Throughout the year we learned how to bring our textures to life, by using different hand techniques. This quarter was by far the most difficult. The most difficult drawings were the 3D facial ones. Trying your hardest to not miss one of the finest facial features. Everything that we learned we had to apply to the drawings we were assigned.

Q4 Art Drawings

Posted by Kilah Kemp in Art Advanced - Hull on Sunday, June 9, 2013 at 12:32 pm

This quarter in art we focused on how to make all of the things we learned throughout the other quarters and made them come to life. We had to make it so that we have developed our drawing skills. So this quarter I really focused on making my drawings life like and making them great to look at.  I believe this quarter was more difficult becasue I had to really incorporate everything I had learned over the Academic school year and make it so that I had life like portraits.
This quarter I had the most difficulties because I was so focused on developing my skills I really had a tough time demonstrating what it was exactly what I learned. I think it is more difficult to express what it is you are learning on canvas than in any other region of art. This school year I really developed an appreciation for the way things go on in the Art community. Drawing these portraits this year really made my had more steady and I think I am a way better drawer now than I ever was.

Final Art Blog, Good Bye Readers!

Posted by Sarena Shuman in Art Advanced - Hull on Sunday, June 9, 2013 at 6:21 am

This is the last quarter of Advanced Art, and we continued to finish up on drawingspace.com. I learned so much from the site, and my drawing skills have improved. I started with Section H, which was focusing more on face, lips, and the human body. But drawing these helped me with shading and make things in 3D look more realistic. I applied all the things I learned this quarter and improved on my drawings. My favorite drawing from this section is the kid that looks as if he is running, I applied all the skills I learned into this one photo for sure.

The next and last section I focused on was section I. This was a difficult, yet very interesting section, this section tied in all of the new things I know about drawing. I expressed my creativity through my number 2 pencil creating some of the best pictures I ever drew. One of my favorite pictures from this section is the turtle, I shaded, sketched, and made sure it looked real as possible.

Once I finished that, I remade a art project I did a while back. I copied another artist photo, on a huge paper. I believed my skills and art talents improved, so re drawing this seemed like such a great idea. Once I finished I told my self my hardwork payed off, my art skills improved and now I call my self a true artist. Look below for the final picture, good bye readers.

Kennedy Coverdale Q4 Drawings + Project

Posted by Kennedy Coverdale in Art Advanced - Hull on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at 3:49 am

This quater we continued using Drawspace to help us improve our drawing skills. In the unit we did, (H13-I08), we learned how to sketch figures and draw fur-related things in different textures. We worked on a lot of shading with hatching lines. During this quater, we had to do an outside project not related to what we were doing in class. I decided to create a ceiling tile in the art room. It's a picture of a the Aperture Science logo from a video game called Portal.

A1 Q4 Drawings

Posted by Antoinette Hiller in Art Advanced - Hull on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at 12:13 am

Some of the few things that I learned in Q4 of art was the various different ways in which lines, circles and shapes can combine and form pictures that can look to be as real. Though the Q4 art assignments were based off of realistic detail, many of the draws came easy to me such as the turtle, the rat and the feather. These were one of my strong pictures that I thought I did. But when it came down to getting into full detail, some of my work didn't come out as strong as I thought and wanted to, this would have to be my weak point.

For my super awesome project, I drew the batman symbol on a tile from the art room. Doing a tile for the art room was very fun and made painting a little more interesting.
Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture of the tile but here is what the sign looks like. I will be sure correct this once at school.

Q4 Art Work Imani Rothwell

Posted by Imani Rothwell in Art Advanced - Hull on Friday, June 7, 2013 at 10:15 pm

This quater was a short quater. Our focus was on animals and using what we learned such as lines, shading, lighting and etc to have success at drawling our last quater art drawling. Now I am not so good in drawling, but through out the year I have gotten better. I went from stick figures to drawling something better and actually look like a human. For my final project I decided to draw and paint the black power fist with Africa in the middle. I don't know why but I just wanted something to represent black power and that to me did. Overall this was a nice build up through this year with art. And a very nice way to end the year with animals. I am proud of the work I have done in art. Even though there were times I know I could have done better. I have picked it up and finished off solid.

A1 Quarter 4

Posted by Jennifer Perez in Art Advanced - Hull on Friday, June 7, 2013 at 9:59 pm

In this Quarter 4, We were to accomplish art assignments that were on Drawspace.com, from H13-I8. During the lessons that we were to learn on our own in order to complete our drawings, had helped me improve my art skills into drawing. As an opinion of mine, It doesn't matter if you don't know how to draw but as long you understand the meaning and the skills of art. It was a matter of mine to learn how to draw. Drawspace.com,was useful to me and made mine art skills to improve. It teaches you the steps in order to learn how to draw the sketches of the assignments. Flipping through my sketch book, it actually made me feel good about myself that I had improve and accomplish my art skills. In this quarter, I had focus on the detail on each assignment that was given and the hard work that I had put into.

Plus, each student is required to do an outside project. I decided to do a tile of the sealing and create the face of "Bmo" from Adventure Time. I notice before the sealing had "Finn", which is another character from Adventure Time. It would of been a good idea to add more characters from Adventure Time. I enjoyed the process into working on the tile and put in hard work to the art work.
