I liked reading about how much you progressed in school. We have similar views on education, between getting grades for a sense of accomplishment and having to deal with irritating teachers. The backstory you had from the social studies class was a great add to the story because of the added context.

Hi William, I really like your essay about your experiences in learning. I thought it was interesting you that you wanted to learn more and that you also respect the teachers. This also happens to me in my 6th-grade social studies teacher. Did that teacher change the way they teach? I'm curious.

My takeaway is that learning can be difficult, but it's essential for a solid education. However, getting a solid education is hindered when the teacher doesn't do their job and teach. I really liked how you described your struggles with school before, and your feelings towards it now.

Hey! I think that this essay is very interesting. What I got from this is the importance of reading, the perseverance and persistence of your work, and the School system. Another thing I liked is your point of view when talking about teachers, how do you see them and how do you think we should behave one with the other. It's a great job!

I thoroughly enjoyed this essay. I a lot of people who have bad teachers, can end up falling behind simply because they don't like the class. I can respect that you decided that just because she was a bad teacher, it didn't mean you had to be a bad student. Your writing was good and you opened up a lot of issues that intertwined with each other, but you managed to make it so the reader didn't get confused. Your paragraphs flowed well too. Good job.

Hello. I enjoyed your essay and your thoughts on the roles of education. You reminded me about how teachers can very easily determine one's opinion of school. The same is true for classmates, as you discussed. I loved how you wrought about how this bad teacher made you value your education even more. Your writing was very neat and I enjoyed reading this. NICE!!!!

This essay was well written. The fact that you included what exactly was causing you to like learning — which was having to re-learn the things that you saw before leaving to China — made the big understanding seem more than "Getting your education is important in life." The big understanding that I got was not only having your education, but taking the responsibilities of what you've learned.

I really found your essay interesting to read, the statement about how you need to be able to admire and respect a teacher to learn something in that class was very intriguing. It made me think back to when I had teachers that I didn't like because I felt like they couldn't teach well. A question I would have for you would be if you could go back and do something to change the way you were being taught instead of toughening your skin and deal with it, would you?

Hi Will, I really liked your essay and found it quite interesting. You really opened up the topic of teacher responsibilities very well. You and I are similar in the sense that we strive for the best in school, and you really opened my eyes to see the dynamics of a good teacher - student relationship, and a bad teacher - student relationship. In regards to your writing, I think your blend of scenes backstory, and reflection was done really well. I liked your chronological flow, and I especially liked how you first showed you how progressed as a student, and then once that was established, talked about the issues from your teachers. Great Job!
