1.)  The things that are connected to my network, are three iphones, an ipad, a PS4 and PS3, my laptop, my moms laptop, and a printer. They are all connected wirelessly.
2.) The things that i learned about home networks were that the wire that connects to the modem impacts the speed. Also that the internet and wifi are two different things.
3.)That the internet and wifi are two different things because most people think they're the same thing.

Explain your L.A.N. Local Area Network - all the devices on your internet connection.

The devices that are connected are mostly portal devices, such as phones, laptops, and tablet.

Reflect on what you learned about networks, did you have an OMG moment that you learned something new and interesting?

I learned that wifi and the internet are two totaly different things. I then also learned that there are two kinds of routers, a router and modem combination router and a modem and router (not together)

What would you tell other people that they need to know about having an ISP/Home network?

i would tell people that believe it or not, your home network and the internet are totally different.

-The devices I have connected to my internet connection are 3 cell phones, a tablet, and a laptop.

-At first I didn’t really know much about my home network, now I have a better understanding of it. The coax cable connects to the modem router which gives an internet connection to all of your devices. Also, I would like to mention that creating an actual visual diagram is very helpful for you.

-I could tell other people to actually pay attention to everything that goes on in their own Home Network so they can have a better understanding and to be aware.

a+b. what does that wire look like? The wire is relatively bigger then almost all wires, it’s a coax cable it goes across all the other wires into verizon Fios box it has a better reception even if there is a storm or a lot of wind gust.

  1. Do you have a modem and a router or a combination modem and router? What is connected to this router/modem? Name all the devices that use wiFi in your home. I have a combination of a modem and a router with a metal tip. It is connected from the verizon fios box installed in the basement. The devices are the tv, home phones and version cable box.

  2. Who is your ISP? (internet service provider) My ISP is Verizon, but I had a couple other recently.

  3. how much is does the internet cost per month? multiply the monthly cost by 12. What is that dollar amount? The internet cost $60.00 per month with the plan. 6012=720 . The dollar amount is$720 for a period of 12 months.

explain your L.A.N. Local Area Network - all the devices on your internet connection. My Local Area Network or L.A.N can be very slow at times, at my house we have many electronic devices such as iphones, ipad, computer, game systems and more. The L.A.N can also be slow do to my neighbors being so close.

Reflect on what you learned about networks, did you have an OMG moment that you learned something new and interesting if now write about what you learned.? Well when it comes to networks it’s very difficult to understand, since it was first used by the military. I also learned that the network can be a very dangerous place because now a days people hide behind their computer screens and harass young users of technology or take a lot of money from people by hacking.

what would you tell other people that they need to know about having an ISP/Home network? Other people should know to take good care of their home network and use apps which erase virus to keep them and their love ones safe from any harm.

explain your L.A.N. Local Area Network - all the devices on your internet connection. my router has the power to my internet, us/ds ( upstream, downstream), 2.4 ghz, 5 ghz.

reflect on what you learned about networks, did you have an OMG moment that you learned something new and interesting? if now write about what you learned? I learned that my network is expensive that was new and it’s interesting that my network can connect to all these devices and still be fast. what would you tell other people that they need to know about having an ISP/Home network?

Pick your service provider wisely and smartly if that means a package deal or anything be smart about your network.

explain your L.A.N. Local Area Network - all the devices on your internet connection:

At my house our internet provider is Comcast, Xfinity. From that we have two wifi networks, “Luna Lunera” and “Luna Lunera Guest”. On Luna Lunera their are 3 Iphones, my moms each have one and so do I. Then their are 3 laptops connected, one for each family member. Then their is a Smart TV connected. On “Luna Lunera Guest” my Iphone, laptop and the Smart TV are also at times connected. Whenever we have guests we connect them to it.

reflect on what you learned about networks, did you have an OMG moment that you learned something new and interesting? if now write about what you learned:

I learned that Internet is physical and W.W.W. (World Wide Web) is not. I also learned that fios means at the speed of light, so coax cables bring you slower internet. I had an OMG moment when I realized that the internet is not owned or controlled by anyone but it is a network of providers and systems all interacting with each other. I had many OMG moments but another I had is realizing how complex the Internet and the W.W.W. are.

what would you tell other people that they need to know about having an ISP/Home network?:

I would tell them that everything you do, is always in the history of your device, Internet and W.W.W. Also that if you have the money get Fios instead of Xfinity because Fios is at the speed of light which will make your browsing faster. Also know that you can block things through your Internet and it makes it that anyone using your internet cannot access what you have blocked.

1) Explain your L.A.N. Local Area Network - all the devices on your internet connection.

A) My local area network spans throughout my entire house. I could go anywhere in my house and connect my devices to the WIFI and they’ll have no problem hooking up. The devices that I have on my network now are my computer and my sisters and I’s phones. I guess you could connect any pocket device but for now that’s what I have connected.

2) Reflect on what you learned about networks, did you have an OMG moment that you learned something new and interesting? if now write about what you learned.

A)I learned that depending on your internet provider there can be restrictions. Take the School District for example. Their network has certain websites that are forbidden to use once you’re connected to their network. To ensure that you do not go on the websites that could be hazardous to students and people in the work place they are able to block websites.

3)What would you tell other people that they need to know about having an ISP/Home network?

A)You are the only one who can control your home network. Unlike the school district’s network there are no restricted webpages or sites unless you put them there. Depending on your internet service provider your limitations may differ but for the most part you are in control of what you allow yourself to view on the internet.

1) Explain your L.A.N. Local Area Network - all the devices on your internet connection.

A) My phone, my mom’s T.V., and my older brothers laptop are all connected by WIFI. My younger brothers Xbox is connected by an ethernet cable.

2) Reflect on what you learned about networks, did you have an OMG moment that you learned something new and interesting? if now write about what you learned.

A) I found out that if you set up your internet in a high place in your home the internet will be faster and better for the whole house.

What would you tell other people that they need to know about having an ISP/Home network?

A) You should first make sure that the internet service provider is providing you with fast speed internet. That I know of Verizon Fios is the fastest internet provider.
