reflect on what you learned about networks, did you have an OMG moment that you learned something new and interesting? if now write about what you learned.

what would you tell other people that they need to know about having an ISP/Home network?

This is a map of my home network for 9th Grade Technology. I showed this diagram to Miss Hull, and she asked me the names of the wires. This moment has brought light to an issue I had never known existed: I have not been properly introduced to the wires that make up my home network! All this time, and I had never made even a slight effort to start a conversation. ut how does one begin a conversation with a pile of wires coiled in the corner beside the printer and router? "Why hello, wire. I do not believe we have been acquainted yet. What is your name? How would you prefer I address you? How was your day?" Anyhow, a lesson learned is a lesson learned. Now if you'll excuse me, I must go have a talk with the cable wire back at home.

  • reflect on what you learned about networks, did you have an OMG moment that you learned something new and interesting? if now write about what you learned.
Something that I took from this was the that everythin is conected to aleast one other thing in my house. another thing was that interseting is that i found out that we had both a rounter and modem.

  • what would you tell other people that they need to know about having an ISP/Home network?
One thing i would tell people is that you need to know mny things before you get it know weather you want faster or cheaper.

*explain your L.A.N. Local Area Network - all the devices on your internet connection.

In my house we use the internet all the time. But we use it at the same time so it goes slow.

*reflect on what you learned about networks, did you have an OMG moment that you learned something new and interesting? if now write about what you learned.

OMG made me learn that the pictures you take aren’t private anymore until you share it to somebody because the internet already have it in the cloud and you can’t take it off. And don’t lie because then there’s rumors that can ruin your reputation.

*what would you tell other people that they need to know about having an ISP/Home network?

If you want faster internet have your router in the last floor of your house so the internet could fall down.

  • Explain your L.A.N. Local Area Network - all the devices on your internet connection.
  • On my L.A.N i have many devices. All my devices are connected to my modem combination router. I have three computers connected to my land line. I have two Microsoft computers and one chromebook. The device i have the most time that is connect to my land lines are phones. I have three iphones and one LG phone. I also have a tv that requires wifi to work so that one is also connected to the land line.
  • Reflect on what you learned about networks, did you have an OMG moment that you learned something new and interesting? if now write about what you learned.
  • I learned many new things about my land line. For example I learned that there are many different types of routers like a modem combination router,  wireless routers and others. I also learned that some may need a connection so the devices need a special cable to be able to connect to the wifi like an xbox or a playstation.
  • what would you tell other people that they need to know about having an ISP/Home network?
  • I would tell them to set up their modem router in one of the top rooms of their house so this way the wifi doesn't have to go down instead it can fall on your devices if its wireless. Also i recommend that you find our as much information as you can before you buy it so you can see all the options their is and see which one suites you the most.

What I learned about my network consists of a router, a coax cable, and I learned how much my internet costs. I had an OMG moment when I figured out my network cost it was interesting how my internet works so fast with all these devices connected to my network. I would tell someone about having a home network is to get it because its worth it.\

Alejandro Guerra

Mrs. Hull

10/20/16

My lan network consists of a Modem, two iphones, one printer ,two laptops , one TV ,and one xbox they all are connected to the world wide web by a verizon coax cable.

I learned that internet isn't something magical that just appears on my devices and that it gets to all my devices by going through lots of servers ,and cables.

People should know that when the have a home network to put their router on the high floor to have faster wifi because wifi signal falls.

Explain your L.A.N. Local Area Network - all the devices on your internet connection.
A) My younger brother's XBox is connected to the router by a ethernet cable. My phone, My mom's T.V., and my brother's laptop is connected by WIFI.

Reflect on what you learned about networks, did you have an OMG moment that you learned something new and interesting? if now write about what you learned.
A) I learned that if you set up the WIFI in a higher place in your home you'll have faster internet because WIFI falls over a home creating sort of a bubble.

What would you tell other people that they need to know about having an ISP/Home network?
A) When looking for a good ISP make sure there internet is actually fast and runs at the speed of light because that's the fastest internet.
