Quarter four Tyler Creighton art !

Posted by Tyler Creighton in Advanced Art - Hull on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at 1:49 pm

For the fourth quarter we were given about 6 sculptress to complete. Instead of ms Hull checking the work in the end she checked it week by week. Or every two classes. There was no designated order in which we had to go in so I took it upon my own hands to go in my own order I chose what I thought would be the most complicated to do first then the least complicated to do last. I feel like all of my work had a lot of effort and commitment. My skills improved by a lot and grown amazingly in this last quarter in all of the art areas. By taking my creativity and directing it in different fields I Believe my art is now something I can call my own.

In the first picture I chose to do abstract motion I chose to draw a ballerina and how he tutu moves by the way she spins. What inspired me to do this is my passion for dance. I am a dancer. It took me quiet some time to make this drawing and many of times I was using the earased more than the charcoal. I didn't out as much effort into it as I did my other drawing because it wasn't going the way I saw it in my head but I feel I did a pretty good job.
In this second picture I did abstract and I was inspired by my thoughts in this picture. It took me two class periods and a half to complete this. The reason it took me so long was because I used oil pastels . I put a lot of effort in this piece . I feel I deserve a lot of credit from it . This piece shows my passion for color and life and somehow it explains my life CRAZY!
In this third picture it focuses on abstract emotion. It might be pretty confusing but when I did this piece I thought of different things I like and how they make me feel inside. The fish shows my freedom and inside it shows how happy I am and how my mind is every where and colorful. When I thought about this painting I thought about life in general! It took me a while to do this and the tools I used were colored charcoal. The messiness shows how much of a mess life can be and the white shows the blankness (I that makes sense)
In this picture it is an observation drawing. I had to look at pictures of the mutter muesem and  find a flower that caught my eye and
Draw an up close drawing of it. I chose a really small yellow flower and drew and up close drawing of it and the vines around it.
These are just extra projects I decided to do

For the quarter fourth, we were assigned to complete each drawings per week. There were a list on Moodle and every week we would be mark with a check if we completed it.  The first week I forgot to draw the art that was assigned however, I on my A game for the future. Each week I had the drawings that was due. For example the 2nd week we had to draw Abstract emotion, I took different prices of quilt and make it into a big quilt.

The first picture is a drawing I drew, this the Abstract motion. Around the actual drawing, there different kind of colors, the reason I decided to used those color were because outside many people see other as mean and bad. Deep down in that person they are nice, kind and all the light colors represent their soft side. Another drawling is the up close flower, the vanes are the up close and they are on the wall and the flowers in the mist of it.

4th Quarter Art Blog

Marquis Simmons

For the fourth quarter we were given a list of projects that we were to complete. Instead of sticking to the script, Ms. Hull allowed me a chance to create my own projects. I took this as a chance for me to try some things I hadn't done all year which was to create projects that were "different" than the usual things we do.

In order below:
The first things I created was a giant pencil made out of little pencils. I did this because I though it would look cool and also be something that no one else would think of. My next project was the big stop light. I used paint for this one because this isn't a tool I usually use. The last two pictures are of a project that Ms. Hull gave me the idea for. She wanted me to create something new for something I was greatly interested in. I decided to create new logos and uniforms/jerseys for my favorite sports teams.

Q4 Artwork - Doroba

Posted by Nicholas Doroba in Advanced Art - Hull on Friday, June 1, 2012 at 11:22 pm

The 4th quarter was one of the best quarters of art this year for me. I had fun with my drawings this quarter, and put in my best work. The projects were interesting, to be able to draw something that is in motion and express emotions through art were really cool.

The abstract emotion project, my emotion was 'loneliness'. All the blue circle represent normal people, and then the one solo red circle is the person felling lonely.I have seen other art pieces similar to this one, and I wanted to be able to create on like those myself. In the abstract motion art, I did those swinging balls, to show one of the balls in motion, I put it as I would see the ball swinging back to hit the other balls. I used some cool, funky paint for the background and slowly blended them together in circular motions to give the background a little spice. The abstract art I used a center point and just kind of drew wavy lines coming out and a multicolored background to bring out the rays of lines. The close up drawing of a lilly was on of the best I did, I think, How the pastels blended together were perfect with bold lines and a black background really bringing out the flowers peddles.

Artist Statement:

For our last quarter in art we were given 6 similar but different art projects. 3 of which were under the topic of abstract and the other 3 were observation drawings. At first I was confused as to how I should go about my abstract drawings. After researching different paintings and drawings I was able to get an idea of what I would do. My favorite abstract projects were the photographs I feel that my drawings don't show the same emotion as my photographs do, they speak more to me. During the time that I would draw I would need to find inspiration and I found little of it. While on the other hand I would be able to find paint and mix it and find so much uniqueness with in the mixture. For my observation drawings I found that I was able to use lessons from our 9th grade year and put it to work. My favorite art piece would have to be the landscape drawing in which I was able to see more artistic ability with in me that I thought I didn't have. I was able to capture details from the view of a window and show a sections of Philadelphia's center city. Through out the time that I drew the landscape drawing I was able to connect with a different aspect of life and leave reality. If I were to enhance this art piece I would draw what I saw and not what was there.

Mixers statement

For this quarter I have been exposing my work to everyone in a new and innovative way and what I did was go on Usteam.com and do live broadcast of my work and letting people hear it instead of just recording them and just having them for my own personal benefit. Somethings that I have learned are that you play what every you feel like and also what the listeners want to hear and also to put my name out their in every chance I get so people can get to know what I do and also how I DJ. I am proud to say that I am currently the number 2 most searched under my name DJ_MALO.

Check me out most days of the ENTIRE WEEK at 9:00 pm.

Q4-Clouds and Moon

Posted by Dejah Harley in Advanced Art - Hull on Thursday, May 31, 2012 at 2:53 pm

For the fourth and final two hour project, I decided to paint clouds with the moon above. I had the intentions of just painting clouds. However, when I was on YouTube learning how to paint clouds, I came across the video of someone painting clouds with the moon above. I loved the way that theirs came out. I wanted to see if I could do it myself. Therefore, I did. I liked the way that it turned out in the end. Overall, I was pleased with the work that I did. Below if a picture of the end result. Enjoy!

Q4- Tree Painting

Posted by Dejah Harley in Advanced Art - Hull on Thursday, May 31, 2012 at 2:44 pm

The third project that I decided to do was a painting of a tree. This project was very hard for me. I was new to painting and had no idea how to paint a tree. However, I did a practice painting of the tree on a piece of paper before doing it on the canvas. Then, I did it on a relatively big canvas. Overall, I am extremely pleased by the way that it came out. Below is a picture of the finished product. Enjoy!

Q4-Crayon Melting

Posted by Dejah Harley in Advanced Art - Hull on Thursday, May 31, 2012 at 2:38 pm

The second project that I decided to do was crayon melting. I saw a picture of crayon melting online and I thought it looked amazing. I decided to recreate it. I decided to draw a man sideways under an umbrella with the melted crayons as the rain. This project took a lot of energy and focus. Also, it was my first time ever doing something like this. Therefore, I filmed it and decided to make a tutorial on how I did it. Overall, I love the way that it turned out. Here is a link to the video describing how I did it. Below is a picture of how it turned out. Enjoy!

Q4- Color Wheel (Square)

Posted by Dejah Harley in Advanced Art - Hull on Thursday, May 31, 2012 at 2:24 pm

I decided to make a color wheel as my first project for this quarter. Instead of a wheel, I used a square piece of paper. I did not know what colors I wanted to use at first. However, I ended up using 4 colors that were in the same color family. Because I did not know how I wanted to create it, I ended up filming everything. That way, I can make a final video describing how I did it overall. I like how it came out overall. I also love the way the video turned out. Here is a link to the video describing and showing how I did this color wheel (Square). Enjoy!
