Baked Mac Beef

I can feel the snow sticking to my fur as I make my way through the thick white snow to the 3rd row house at the top of the block. I always try to get into that house but they have that stupid naked looking cat always messing up my plans just for him to have a meal for himself. The time I'm guessing was Swiss and Cooper at night. In human that's 9:40 pm. I see the bright lights illuminating the brown brick and white snow outside near the window on the front porch. It seems so warm and always smell baked macaroni and cheese coming from inside. I make my way burrowing through the snow. I see the big brown house, windows opened and white lace curtains flowing from the outside from the cold winter gusts. I can see the walls; a warm cashew color and a tanish beige couch to complement it. ( Another gust of wind blows). It carries the smell of the aged swiss and cooper cheese through the dark nights sky and fills your nose with joy and gives the the feeling of adventure and love. I really love cheese if you didn’t realize yet. I climb up the lawn because the steps are too high for me to climb alone. I make my way to the gold plate at the bottom of the screen door and the brown and black welcome mat that only showed “elco” because it was covered with a medium amount of snow. So I turn and see the rusted basement grate that gets spray painted black every now and then. I hate that it’s snowing. It would make getting into this house easier. This place has that stupid naked looking cat always messing up my plans just for him to have a meal for himself. But this place is so great. It seems so warm and I can always smell baked macaroni and cheese coming from inside. I jump down into the cobweb infested divot and go through the small basement window which is useful because it leads right to the hollow drop ceiling which is useful to get to the basement steps which gives me full access to the kitchen. The only problem is the litter box is right on the wall in the dining room which is the only hostile place I have to pass in order it get to the kitchen. Also that little naked mole looking cat is always pooping and infesting the air with his wild stenches after drinking some of his night time milk, and tries to use me as a night time snack. But this time I planned it through. I rolled around is the dog next doors poop last week and jumped in his milk bowl while he took a cat nap and now he's at the vet Because he has some sort of worms. (laughs). (shrugs) Oh well I don’t like that damn cat anyways. I continue my journey following the smells as I get closer to the steps. I see the steps and jump down onto the carpet. I never been this far before. The carpet feels soft but somehow hard. Oh well. My mission isn’t finding the texterity if the carpet, it’s to get some of the the Mac and cheese. I climb the rest of the 9 steps and reach the dining room. I can see the kitchen in the distance. I start my journey through the dining room dashing quickly across the floor trying to avoid being seen by the humans. I reach the kitchen and I see the green and white glass oven bowl with some cheese hanging off the side. I stay to the wall from basement door to the kitchen and just as I get to the corner of the stainless steel refrigerator I get stuck. This is something I never seen before it was all black with some sort of substance on it. I couldn’t move; I was stuck. I yell and try to nudge my way out but nothing worked. The yelling notified the humans. Shit I’m done for this is it. This was what momma was telling about brother when I was just a young one. The sticky trap. I stopped trying and admitted my defeat. The gigantic human picked me up and poured this cold water and I started to slip and slide like that one time i found some icy colored liquid in a styrofoam cup. I hopped down and darted towards the door. But it wasn’t open. Then the human did another crazy thing she opened the door and I ran out. I won’t sneak into houses anymore.

i like how it made me feel bad for the mouse even when most ppl think mice are gross. this monologue really helps the reader feel emotionally connected to the mouse.

This is a really unique idea for a monologue! I haven't ever seen monologues from the perspective of an animal before. Your descriptive words and writing really invests the reader into the scene.

I liked how you were a mouse but you never said that directly. This is the first monologue that I have seen as an animal but you did such a great job. Your descriptions really made the reader feel like they were there.

I appreciate how your voice fits in with the setting. When the mouse was outside, he would say things such as "brrr" to show that it's indeed cold outside with snow. The descriptions of the house show how the mouse's mood changes from bitter and cold to warm and relaxed.

I like how you chose an animal instead of a human. I also, like how we weren't sure what animal you were until the near end. You did a good job taking the role of an animal when you were talking about time. Lastly, your descriptions made me feel like if I was there.
