Slide #2, Tylier Driscoll

Posted by Tylier Driscoll in Technology - Freshman - Hull - y1 on Monday, December 14, 2015 at 11:39 am

Me magazine slide
I learned that I fell into the trap that was set for the me magazine slide. I completely started the me magazine slide over with a black and white slide, my last slide had no pictures in it so I then used pictures that fit the theme well. I was also told to go into deeper things about myself besides school. I also learned to bleed the pictures off a little bit, and that I needed to fit some of the things about me into a concise form. I made my name as big as it was before and I added a book next to it to make it look better. I made these changes to my slide because I needed the slide to be able to be processed quicker than the last. This slide looks much better than the last because the changes made to the slide represents me a little bit more than the last.

I learn that I have to make things pop on my slide. so i changed my background from pink to gray . I also changed the pictures instead of using fictional characters.

Me Mag (3)
For my reflection side I added a shade to my pictures to make that black and white theme. I learned not to overlap my title with my pictures so i moved my title over a little. From the comments i had i learned about a lot about theme and cramping pictures together.

Updated Me Magazine Slide, Lucien Hearn

Updated Me Magazine silde
In my updated Me Magazine Slide, I removed two images, and made the Thailand flag and the woman more prominent. In addition to that, I more so centered the text, and made the slide color the (relatively) same color as the woman's background, a salmon color. I made it seem like the two images' foundations are both aligned, but the bird is popping out, making the image seem like it pops. I'm very proud of this product.

Reflection Slide

I learned that kerning and not showing the most important elements in a photo can make a slide confusing and make the viewer uncomfortable. I moved the photos, so that they're facing upward and my face isn't cut off and I spaced out the letters to prevent kerning.

Media Fluency
I received my criticism, and I made my changes I thought made most sense. I created the slide into more of a collage, as that was one of my main comments. I fixed my words and the colors, making them properly fit and stand out more. The pictures became bigger, to use more of the space up and fixed anything else I had to. I learned a lot from doing this activity, I learned how to properly use colors and the shapes of the photos. I also learned the different aspects of design, and how much it actually matters with presenting and business matters.

Slide #2 by Nick Ryan

Reflection

From doing this slide, I learned a lot of things. I learned that symmetry, spacing, and wording is the key to a good slide. I also learned about the different tools designers use when creating billboards, like the rule of thirds, making the words big, contrasting the words and the background, and a lot more. I made changes to my first slide presentation. I changed the font, cleaned up the spacing, and got rid of the underlines. I changed the font because I wanted it to be interesting to my viewers and so I put it in Acme font. I cleaned up the spacing because it was sloppy. Each line seemed too close to each other and some of the letters touched the other words. Finally, I got rid of the underlines because it made the slide look messy and it touched the letters below it. These were the things I learned about in making this slide and these were the changes I made to my slide.

Me Magazine Slide

Untitled presentation
I learned from the slide that the one I had was entirely too crowded and that made it look sloppy. I changed the slide so that it could send a strong message but not be crowded at the same time.

TECH JACOBO 2.0
I learned that the slide is not only about your academic personality but also what defines you, so I removed everything I had and I made a completely new slide with the things that represent who I am and without explaining the slide to people they will know.
I add my favorite game: Clash Of Clans, a graffiti that shows my artistic side, soccer balls that represent my favorite sport, and finally the Illuminati logo.

Media Fluency#2, To

I learned a lot from the critiques of my media slide. I made the changes that I made to my slide because my slide was not viewer friendly because I made the pictures all even and boring and that I changed my words because they didn't standout and the changes will make my slide better. I learned that I should change my words and make it into a collage. I used contrast colors like blue and orange because the colors stand out more. I made all the pictures different sizes. I also added two different fonts for my name and what I like to do because they are different.
