Q4 Art Portfolio - "A Man Prays: The Last Transcendence"

Posted by Alex Marothy in Art Advanced - Hull - a1 on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at 11:40 pm

I have birthed and written into my artistic creations a vast array of pure emotional fervers and lusts of the soul, which presents itself to us most often when we observe the morning sky. The great star rising up, climbing the greatest cliffs, greeting us all simultaneously. We smile upon the art of the great star, as it begins to paint the fields and meadows deep purples, and blinding yellows... And those who document this incredible idolotry with canvas and brush? They are the children of the great star, truly alive, always burning. They know the star better than any normal being ever could, for they have been inside of it. These sons and daughters, when this world we have built for ourselves begins to crumble into dust, we will reach out to the children of the sun for some final salvation.

Quarter 4 Art Slideshow
For this quarter i was very pleased with the fact that we were allowed to do whatever type of artwork that we wanted to do rather than crating a piece of art that is designed to be a specific way. For most of my pieces I just stated them off as doodles and then turned them into something. My self portrait is my favorite piece out of all four that I did this quarter because I feel as though it is the most creative out of the four. All of the painting I did I enjoyed very much and I'm very proud of how they turned out.

Q4 Art

During this fourth quarter in Ms. Hull’s two day art class, everything has been excellent. In this quarter we had the liberty to create our own selection of pieces.  The pieces I created are as follows ; a human portrait, a nature landscape, a drawing of roses, generated art, and a night vision painting.  All of the pieces were given 100% of my time and effort, which can clearly be seen through the work. I believe that this quarter has been my best yet. I loved making every single piece because I liked the diversity. The freedom we were given this quarter was incredible!

My favorite piece of art work was definitely the night vision painting.  A Night Full Of Stars, was a painting that contained a mixing of a beautiful variety of cool colors. I wanted to interpret a very calm yet sparkly night. I also wanted to transmit the emotion someone feels when they look at a very beautiful night scene. Which is why I started with a very dark shade of blue and then started to get light. Overall A Night Full Of Stars has been my favorite painting this year.

Q3 Art Tenzin Chemi

I enjoyed creating these new pieces. Each of them are something special to me because I have not done these types of drawings in these unique methods before. For my abstract piece, I just went with the flow by keeping my pencil on the paper and just drawing even when I was not sure where I was going next. For my self-portrait, it was very interesting drawing with india ink because I've never used it before. I was surprised by the fact that it was not as hard as I was expecting and it also turned out good in my opinion. Not only that piece but I thought my value piece turned out pretty cool too because I knew that it was going to be hard trying to have the perfect shading. However, it wasn't that bad and I liked the outcome of my work. In the basic shape project, it was fascinating how I had to draw my piece. It was yet another new experience for me to draw shapes to create an object. Then, for my final piece, the animal sketch, I really enjoyed applying two of the recent skills, shading/values and basic shapes, I'd learned to create this piece.

Brandon Jones Q3 Portfolio

For me, the projects in Quarter 3 were not only enjoyable to do but different and unique. The hardest project in my opinion was the value drawing but with practice I was able to master it. Much like last Quarter, I didn't sacrifice creativity or practicality. My favorite project was the Basic Shapes. I liked it because I was able to turn mere shapes into something more. I gave full effort into this quarter and I hope it is reflected in my work.

Quarter 3 Art Portfolio

I feel that this quarter was the most expeditious.  I was able to break out of my comfort zone this quarter, especially with the animal sketch.  I never attempted to draw something that was not fictitious or an animate object.  With that said, I am proud of my animal sketch even though it does not live up to its full potential.  I plan to make more animal sketches in the future on my own time.

As for goals for next quarter, I want to enjoy to moment when creating my art work.  I do not want it to feel like work necessarily because it gives it a negative connotation.  I also want to keep an open mind about the projects we have.  I used this approach this quarter, I feel good about my art and hope to feel the same next quarter.

Quarter #3 Art Portfolio

Quarter #3 Art was a little different from the first two quarters. The reason is because I tried new things. I made sure to give my absolute best effort at 100% of the time. I feel this may or may not have been my best quarter because like I said I was trying new things. But look on the bright side, I said this in the last two quarters and I'm going to say it again. What you make/draw is art. Everything in the world is art.

So for this quarter the assignments we had to do was a 2-D drawing consisting any shapes with different shadings. A self portrait of myself by using india ink (black paint). A value still life drawing by showing the differences of pencil shading of when to use light or dark shadings. A basic shape drawing to give you the understanding of how to draw the outline (or body) of a picture. Last project was an animal sketch of basically any animal you want.

My favorite projects of this quarter was the basic shape and animal sketch. I say this because the basic shapes project gave a better understanding of the animal sketch. In the animal sketch, you can clearly find places to use basic shapes to help you sketch the animal in more detail. The basic shape project didn't make you do your picture in full detail, but it gave advice for the next project. I enjoyed working on my projects every time I got the chance! I seriously cannot wait for the 4th quarter!

Antoinette Hiller Q3 Portfolio

When it came to the art work that I turned in this quarter, I would have to say that I was fairly proud of the effort and the quality that I put into each of the drawings. Through each of the drawings, I wanted to display a theme in order to show my organization. I felt as though I was able to spend more time on most of the topics to be able to focus more on the quality that I put into my art. This would definitely have to be better than the last quarter and so I do feel as though I have improved. I do feel proud of my work and hope to have the same feeling next quarter, especially so that I am able to end on a good note.
