One Point Perspective of the Art Room

I started this drawing  by measuring the back wall, then drawing the vanishing point.
After that I drew the side walls, floor, and ceiling. To draw the ceiling tiles I used the vanishing point then drew a line from the corner of the back wall box to the opposite corner of the paper. After that I started drawing the smaller details on the back wall and ceiling such as the lights, the fans, the wifi box, and the windows.

I'd like to mention Kristy who I think did an exceptional job on the project.

Art Room

Posted by Victoria Odom in Art - 9 - Hull on Monday, April 4, 2011 at 10:10 am

This project is based off of the point of perspective. I started off by using lines drawn from a little point from the middle of the page used to make boxes. Then we moved on something harder which was drawing a room and items that go into a room. After completing the task of drawing a simple room, we moved on to drawing any wall of our art class room. The easiest thing to learn was that drawing straight lines could make a room look so realistic. The hardest thing to learn was on what angle to draw the lines on, when trying to make objects stand out more.

Jaccar Garcia
Jaccar's drawing shows much effort and hard work put into it. She got the idea of perspective and her work is interesting to look at. The way she drew her windows look the same as they do in our art class room.

Perspective

Posted by Jaccar Garcia in Art - 9 - Hull on Monday, April 4, 2011 at 10:10 am

For this project we started with just a few boxes and finished off with a mini version of the classroom walls. The boxes we made helped us in making the few changes the the walls that required making it final to look 3d. For example, when we the doors we had to take in from making the 3d room with vanishing point in able to make the end of the door seem like it comes out. As the same with the windows and the wall. In able to begin we had to find out where our vanishing point was, the vanishing point is the exact middle of the square. From there the vanishing point worked on its on. The easiest part to learn was making the objects come alive. As in actually making the doors and windows seem real. The hardest part to learn was to know when were the correct moments to use the vanishing point and when not to.

Victoria Odom

Victoria Odom's drawing shows there is much effort put into it and also shows her understandings. She was able to do more than just the walls but also she was able to add in the tables and sofa that are in the room. Also Victoria Odom and I chose the same wall so we both were able to help each other out to enrich our drawings. You can see that Victoria Odom understood well how to use her vanishing point by the way the room is laid out.

Single Point Perspective Kirby

Posted by Seamus Kirby in Art - 9 - Hull on Monday, April 4, 2011 at 10:04 am

This is the beginning of my single point perspective drawing of the front of the art room. We started by drawing a cube from a single point perspective, then a small, simple room, all with a step by step instruction on what to do. After this she gave us a piece of paper and told us to draw an accurate single point perspective drawing of one of the art walls. I first drew a rectangle in the room, and then drew the tiles on the ceiling. I used these tiles as a guide as to where to put everything else. It was easy to learn how to make the ceiling tiles, but making a back section of the room was difficult.

I think that James Prell's drawing was very good, because his drawing looked a lot like the art room wall he was drawing. He put a lot of attention into detail, and it shows in his drawing.
