Theodore lehmann Capstone work doc (3)

For my Capstone I talked about how music had evolved in the past century specify how jazz, rock and hip hop had evolved since they were first introduced but also what impact they had. The impact these genres had on the world were fashion, literature and civil rights like how rock influenced fashion jumpsuits, combat boots as well as unique fashion styles. An example of this is Elton John who used such dazzling fashion style mainly when it came to what he wore when he performed on stage. As a way to show what the music artists style that I talked about were I used some of their songs to show why people enjoyed their music.

The danger of the inmates within our world

My drawing represents the scene where nurse Rachet asked the other patients if Mcmurphy should be sent to another ward.

I made my scene the way it was because it was the best I could visualize when it comes to a nurse asking her patients the question she asked.

Not only that but I visualized it by using strong line work but also drawing the people in what way I could due to the fact that I.m not really good at drawing people yet I drew them well dispute this.

What is portrayed in my scene is a middle aged, angry nurse who is trying to get the patients to send Mcmurphy to a ward where he will be isolated and drugged on a larger rate therefore causing him to be in a position where he could no longer do any of his gambling schemes or try to gain control of the ward.

What caused me to make my choice was that I wanted to show the aggressive relationship between The nurse and Mcmurphy but also how he tries to manipulate her machinations as if he were playing her like a violin only for her to revert to her usual way.

“… remember that vote we had a day or so back—about the TV time? Well, today’s Friday and I thought I might just bring it up again, just to see if anybody else has picked up a little guts.” “Mr. McMurphy, the purpose of this meeting is therapy, group therapy, and I’m not certain these petty grievances—” “Yeah, yeah, the hell with that, we’ve heard it before. Me and some of the rest of the guys decided—” “One moment, Mr. McMurphy, let me pose a question to the group: do any of you feel that Mr. McMurphy is perhaps imposing his personal desires on some of you too much? I’ve been thinking you might be happier if he were moved to a different ward.”

After seeing this I Believed that Miss Rachet could no longer tolerate Mcmurphy due to him becoming more obnoxious and disruptive but also because he had come to be a possible protagonist that could cause an uprising of the patients and than somehow overrun her and the other doctors.

Not only that but Mcmurphy could than use this said chaos to take over the ward therefore allowing the “Inmates to run the asylum which is why Nurse Rachet so that situation does not happen in anyway possible.

interptien of a young girl in pure nothingness

My artwork is about how Offred thought of how winter was not dangerous yet she saw some evil rooted deep within Serena Joy’s garden yet nobody had truly noticed it before.

Not only that but it supposedly shows how their secrets buried deep within the garden that had been long kept there and now needed to be brought into the light as if those secrets had a voice that needed to be heard.

My artwork also in a way shows how the voices of those secrets have been kept hidden for so many years that they had begun to become louder and louder as if they were grim grinning ghosts who had come out to socialize therefore causing offred to wonder if the emptiness that she spoke to when she told her story were there truly voices starting to hear her or was she just losing her inner self after being there for so long without any true reality of her own.

Knowing fear within thy inner soul

Knowing Fear within thy inner soul

The section that resonated with me was when Offred lost luke. However, the moment that truly struck with me within my mind was when Offred felt such fear after supposedly losing Luke that she felt not so much loneliness but afraid as if she had lost not just her child but also a part of herself, her very being as if there was nothing left in her world to truly matter to her.

After noticing this It seemed to me that Offerd had lost so much of herself that she felt fear not only that but she felt fear and darkness so much within that moment that she now knew fear itself as if she were looking directly at it as fear too was looking back through the darkest deeps of the world.

“I want to reach up, taste his skin, he makes me hungry. His fingers move, feeling my arm under the nightgown sleeve, as if his hand won’t listen to reason. It’s so good, to be touched by someone, to be felt so greedily, to feel so greedy. Luke, you’d know, you’d understand. It’s you here, in another body. I think of the hanged men, hooked on the Wall. I can hardly stand up. I have to get away, back to the stairs, before I dissolve entirely. His hand’s on my shoulder now, held still, heavy, pressing down on me like warm lead. Is this what I would die for? I’m a coward, I hate the thought of pain.”

Now as to why Offred was feeling this was because she had lost luke the man who she had a romantic interest with, only to then see him in a different body some time after losing him therefore causing her to feel such sadness, shame as well fear because it was as if she feeling thy sting of death within her body.
