​Abstract: For my Senior Project, I decided to write free write poems throughout the school year. I wanted to create a project that I was interested in. This was very difficult for me in the beginning stages of the Capstone. I didn't feel like I had interests that were year long projects. My original idea was to create a book with a series of short stories. I wanted them to be horror mysteries. For the first month I have been working on trying to create these stories but had no luck. The reason why i wanted to do a writing piece was because of my old passion for writing. I use to spend a lot of time writing poems, stories, and even songs. Due to progressing in school I had less time to write and really do what I like. I saw this as  an opportunity to advance with a subdued passion. When I was writing the stories I instantly had writer's block. I had an idea but I didn't know how to write it. I was stuck for a week with just formulating characters. After awhile I decided that I needed to change my idea. I was not progressing and time was being wasted. I found a journal that held a few of my past works. I then decided to change my idea to making poems. I would write a poem everyday day or frequently. There would be no specific topic but just what I feel in the moment.  My initial goal was 100 poems for the whole year. I knew this was a lot to strive for but I set a schedule for myself. Unfortunately, I was not on track for my poem amount and it was changed to 50 poems. I was very close to writing 50 poems but then I was only able to write 31. I feel like I accomplished a lot and that I saw a lot about myself through these poems.

Abortion Rights

Abortion is an extremely controversial issue and can cause strong arguments for either side. Those who oppose abortion believe that pregnant women are playing god and are committing murder. The people who agree with abortion believe that pregnant women have the right to choose if she wants to have the baby or not. Women have the undeniable right to decide the fate of their unborn child. However, laws have made it harder for women to enact these rights because of personal beliefs.

Pregnancy is a huge moment in a woman’s life. She is creating another life, which brings her as well as the family a lot of joy. However, a large percentage of pregnant women are not able to take care of their future child. This causes other options being discussed and abortion is considered greatly as a primary option. Guttmacher, a center in research states, “75% of abortion patients in 2014 were poor or low-income. Twenty-six percent of patients had incomes of 100–199% of the federal poverty level, and 49% had incomes of less than 100% of the federal poverty level ($15,730 for a family of two).” ¾ of the women getting abortions are not able to support themselves let alone another life. This shows that there is a valid reason for pregnant women to have abortions.

There are many laws that restrict groups of people. Laws can be unfair and even times contradicting. The government has decided to have a say in the medical rights of specifically pregnant women. In 2007 there was a first ever law that banned abortions. This allowed politicians to interfere with the health decisions of women and families. The abortion ban criminalizes abortion that is in the second trimester of pregnancy. This ban restricts women the right to their own health decisions. No one should be able to tell someone what they can and cannot do with their own health. A lot of times abortions are recommended from doctors due to the safety to the carrier. There are many complications that can occur during a pregnancy that can lead to having an abortion. Since 1976 there has been a Hyde Amendment. “The Hyde Amendment has blocked federal Medicaid funding for abortion services (since 1994, there have been  three extremely narrow exceptions: when continuing the pregnancy will endanger the woman’s life, or when the pregnancy results from rape or incest). This means Medicaid cannot cover abortion even when a woman’s health is at risk and her doctor recommends she get an abortion.” (plannedparenthoodaction.org). This is an unfair Amendment. Every pregnant woman should be able to get the help coverage they need no matter what for an abortion procedure. As stated before most women who become pregnant are not able to financially take care of their child, which means there is no way they would have the money to pay for a very expensive procedure. This law was not created for the benefit of pregnant women, but to satisfy biased opinions from lawmakers. This shows how much rights can be violated and stripped away from contradicting laws.

Pregnant women should have the right to make decisions about their health as well as their unborn children. Unfortunately laws make it extremely hard for women to have abortions due to their biased opinions about the situation. Not wanting pregnant women to play God by aborting their unborn children, the government has decided to play oppressor in retaliation.

This was my best 2fer yet because I took my faults into consideration when writing essays, and tried to make sure they were not implemented into this essay. Also I was more interested in this topic compared to the others.

Beauty is the key to a man’s heart  

Comparing “The Taming of the Shrew” to “Shallow Hal”


“The Taming of the Shrew”, was a play written by William Shakespeare. The story was about suitors trying to marry two prestigious daughters. Katherine, the eldest daughter was not fancied by many men. Most people would describe her as discourteous. Bianca the youngest daughter on the other hand was the complete opposite of her sister. There were many pursuits of marriage but Katherine was to be counted before Bianca could. This caused Petruchio, Katherine's only suitor to become interested in her. However it was for the money and assets he would obtain after the marriage. The movie “Shallow Hal” is about a middle aged man having unrealistic high standards for women. Hal only makes advances with “attractive women,” while ignoring and even shaming  the women who he feels is not the physical standard that an average woman should be.


In the movie “Shallow Hal,” the main character Hal judges women based off of their physical appearances. Beauty is a requirement for Hal in order for him to pursue a relationship. However, it blinds him from the internal beauty that a woman may have. It seems that Hal views women as a trophy or a piece of property. The play “The Taming of the Shrew,” mentions the value of women which wasn’t presented as much. Petruchio, a suitor in the play, believed that his wife Katherine was his property once they were married. Hal and Petruchio both feel that they can control women to suit their own liking. Although Hal and Petruchio have different agendas, the play and the movie show that no matter the time period women have high standards inflicted onto them from men, causing women to develop insecurities and self hate.



“And woo her with some spirit when she comes! Say that she rail, why then I’ll tell her plain She sings as sweetly as a nightingale. Say that she frown, I’ll say she looks as clear As morning roses newly washed with dew…..”

(Act 11, Scene 1, 177-181)


In this quote, Petruchio talks about his plan to “woo” Katherine, the woman who he was pursuing. He created a specific plan to make sure that he will be able to think ahead to convince her to fall for him, or at least make her have interest in him.   


This shows that no matter if a woman protests, a man will try and control her. This idea is seen throughout the play as well as the movie.

In this scene, Hal is trying to pursue a relationship with a woman. She timidly tells him that she is not physically attracted to him because she wanted to spare his feelings. Hal tries to convince her that attraction comes later in a relationship. He speaks to her as if her opinion does not matter, because he was out to get what he wanted: her. After a long back and forth they went their separate ways. After the woman leaves Hal gives her a look as if she is disgusting. Hal was experiencing the way he treated women. The difference is Hal feels that there is something wrong with the woman and not him, which is why he gave that look at the end. What is interesting about what Hal said is that attraction coming later in a relationship only applies to men. There is a double standard for men and that is proven in both the movie and play.

In this scene Petruchio was talking about how much he likes Katherine. The first thing that he talks about is her beauty, which shows he prioritizes it over her other traits. When men talk about women in the book they tend to list their beauty before anything else. When women are held to very high beauty standards, it can create insecurities because they may not feel like they fulfill those standards. When it was time for marriage between Katherine and Petruchio it was difficult for the both of them adjusting to each other. Petruchio wanted to control Katherine but she was defiant, which resulted in physical restraints.


This proves that a relationship cannot only rely on beauty or it will not last. “Shallow Hal” depicts a relationship being about the inner beauty and having an understanding that each person is respected in all areas.

In this scene of the movie, Hal and Rosemary are walking together towards Hal’s apartment. When they both reach the apartment building Hal talks about what he loves and likes about Rosemary, his main interest is her body. He tells her that she is beautiful and that she is not fat, when in actuality she is. At this point in the movie Hal sees the inner beauty of women instead of just their appearance. In Rosemary’s case she is overweight and is not “attractive” in Hal’s definition. Rosemary knows that a guy like Hal doesn’t come around and she was surprised that he took a liking to her. When Hal starts to compliment her, she is not able to bear it. In Rosemary’s eyes Hal loves everything she hates. She feels like she isn't beautiful because of the pressure society puts on her. This caused her to doubt the love that Hal professed to her, because she doesn’t know what it feels like to be truly loved when she couldn’t even love herself.


Across the different time eras there are the same requirements for love and a relationship. The book and the movie show that there have been consistent pressures on women. The unrealistic expectations for women caused them to not know what love truly is, because instead of loving themselves they try to alter themselves so others can love them. The women in both pieces have shown that they were controlled by men and it has resulted in negative affects.  

The Lost Soul

My past is something that I don’t like talking about. It brings back emotions that I buried inside me long ago. Thinking about what to write and my past I realized that I haven’t dealt with it. I didn’t want to and I was never forced to, so I didn’t. I hid behind a blank face and blackened heart. I cut off all the emotions that I didn’t want to feel. Life became easier when you didn’t feel pain and disappointment. I think the biggest disappointment of my life was my childhood, well what little of it I remember. For 12 years my mom, sister and I lived with my aunt, my younger cousin and my uncle. Living with them was an uphill battle. There were good times and then there were bad ones. The biggest challenge/annoyance was my aunt’s attitude. She was always so rude and nasty about everything. She made it clear that everything was hers. The tv, the couch, the refrigerator and even the dust bunnies that often resided on the floor. It was tolerable, sometimes. I never got along with my younger cousin. Her being the only child made her selfish. She didn’t have to share her things and she could say and do basically anything she wanted. Most of the times I don’t even think it’s the fact that she’s an only child, but the fact that her parents allowed her to get away with her actions.  I remember one time Anaiya, my cousin, and I were arguing; which we often did. My mother was in the same room while my aunt was in the kitchen. I know as the oldest I should lead by example but at the same time I’m not just going to let her say what she wants to me. As we argued I apparently said something that was so tragic that my aunt had to yell from all the way in the kitchen to tell me and me only to stop and shut up. Of course I was threaten and I tried to explain that Anaiya started it and was saying things that were way worse than me but she didn’t want to hear it. I looked at my mom and she just shook her head and said leave it alone. So I did. It was always my cousin and I going back and forth and me being the only one in trouble. At the time I never understood why my mom just told me to leave it alone. I knew that I was right in the sense to stand up for myself but why wasn’t I able to do that when it came to my aunt?


During the time I was living with my aunt I use to visit my dad.  My dad was married and had a son, my younger brother. He also had two other kids by another woman, my older sisters. When I was younger I would visit my dad’s house over the weekends. I would see my family and occasionally spend time with them. I felt like an outsider. Everyone was always together and developed a bond while I only visited twice a month. I felt like I didn’t belong. I was never comfortable and just wanted to go back home with my family. When I was around them I didn’t feel like they accepted me. I never really had an opinion about my dad’s wife at the time, but she was someone that I grew to dislike. To me she was just simply his wife. I already had a mother and didn’t need another one. I didn’t look at her as a stepmother but I respected her as an adult because that’s how I was raised. I didn’t like spending time with them. I would have preferred if it was just my dad and I. I always wanted to go back home but I was too scared to say it. One day while I was over their house I was sitting on the end chair, where my dad usually sits. It was cold and that seat was the furthest from the air conditioner. Ms. Sandy, the wife, was in the kitchen and when she came back she looked at me like I stole something. She said “That’s your father’s seat. I don’t know why you think you could sit there.” I didn’t say anything because what would I even say to that? Coincidentally, my dad and brother were coming down the stairs at the same time she said that. I was thinking that he would have said I could sit there but he sided with her. He told me that was the “man’s” seat and kicked me out of the chair and sat down with my younger brother in his lap. In the corner of my eye I could remember seeing Ms. Sandy smirk. I sat on the couch and said nothing. I didn’t care it was just a seat to me, but the fact that I felt outcasted made me want to go home even more. There was always something little that Ms. Sandy would do and say that I never realized was wrong. When it came to me I always felt like I was treated differently. I  knew I wasn’t wanted at that home and I didn’t understand what was the purpose of having me there. I remember one day I didn’t want to stay and I said out loud that I wanted to go home. Ms. Sandy said “Well you can’t. You have to be here for the weekend.” As a kid I didn’t know what that meant. I thought it was the simple fact that my dad wanted to spend time with me not because he had to. Years later I learned that the court ordered me to spend every other weekend with my dad. At that point in my life I already became numb so I had no feelings about the situation. I didn’t and still don’t consider that man to be my father. It’s just something that I made myself believe.  


A challenge of me being a kid was my hair. It was so thick and very hard to do. It didn’t help that I was tender headed, meaning I felt a lot of pain when getting my hair done. My mom or aunts did my hair and they became use to doing it and so did I. They understood what to do to prevent the amounts of pain that I would feel. My dad wanted to go to the my grandmother’s house. Before we went Ms. Sandy decided to do my hair. It was strange because she’s never even attempted to do my hair before. She said that it “looked a mess” and that it needed to be fixed. I sat on the chair that was moved from the kitchen to the living room. My brother along with my step cousin were sitting on the couch waiting for me to get my hair finished. My dad was in the kitchen. As she was doing my hair it hurt really bad, more than usual; so I began to cry. She kept telling me to be quiet and began combing my hair even harder which made me cry harder. I subconsciously reached my hand up to touch my hair because it hurt. Then as I did I felt a throbbing pain on my hand. One. Two. Three. She hit me on my hand with the comb three times. I saw my dad watching and did nothing but go upstairs. I immediately stopped crying because shock took over. I stayed quiet. That was the day when I felt hatred for my dad. I hated him because he didn’t care, he let her do and say whatever she wanted to me. My own dad never hit me so why would it be alright for her to? I didn’t want to go to my grandmother’s house. I didn’t want to be around them or see any of them. From that day forward they were all dead to me. I didn’t tell my mom for years about what had been happening. I don’t know why. I think it was a mixture of being scared and the development of me not caring. I just felt like it wasn’t important. There were a lot of events that happened in my life and it would be impossible to explain in one simple essay. It’s harder to understand my life with so many missing pieces. That’s similar to how I am. I’m a puzzle with missing pieces. They’re lost but eventually they will come back and fit into their predetermined places. To this day I do not have a relationship with my dad and his family. I don’t acknowledge them and they don’t acknowledge me, I like it that way. I’m not mad or sad because that’s just a part of life. You have to move on and do what’s in the best interest of yourself. I can’t predict the future but I would like things to stay as they are now. I already have my family and incorporating people who have not fought or cared enough to fight for me are people who I do not want in my life. It’s easy for me to not care about and forget you. Just like a light switch, on and off.


Impact of Negative Cartoons on Children

The typical Modern American child watches television every day, especially cartoons. Cartoons are a fun way for children to learn and engage; or so they use to be. However, as time advances, the quality and wholesomeness of cartoons are changing. Cartoons are becoming more sexualized, condoning violence, and no longer not requiring children to think and walk away with some type of lesson. As a result, Cartoons are negatively impacting children. Cartoons are expanding the minds of children but also limiting their sense of morality.

Children are like sponges. They absorb everything that is around them. A lot of where children learn is from television. Cartoons grab children’s attention, so great that they could be watching television for hours. The same cartoons that children are constantly watching, are containing sexual and inappropriate content. A show aired on Nickelodeon in 2014 named Breadwinners. This show is a prime example of sexual and inappropriate content in cartoons. Children gravitate to this show because of the colorfulness and the use of animals that children are able to recognize. In this cartoon it has a lot of the main characters shaking their butts and slapping each other’s. The opening song that introduces the show is not appropriate for children. “Booty kick it, party punch it. Shake your feathers, make your pants dance.” (Breadwinners Wiki). Children should not be exposed to such things, especially in cartoons. It is highly inappropriate and it confuses the young innocent minds of children. Children should not be watching things where it is acceptable to be sexual with other people and themselves. It does not do anything about teaching self respect. All that this does is show children that their bodies are toys and can be touched and shook anywhere for anyone. This causes children to want to reenact what that are seeing. Children will then begin to inappropriately touch each other as a result of the cartoons that they are exposed to.

Cartoons condone violence as a way to handle situations. Often times when watching cartoons there is a superhero and a villain. For example the show Spongebob Squarepants, which is a very well known show. Plankton, who is the villain, is trying to steal the recipe to the Krabby Patty so that his restaurant can flourish like the Krusty Krab. Plankton builds all of these contraptions to steal this recipe but never succeeds because Mr. Krabs, the owner of the Krusty Krab, stops him by using violence. When children watch shows that have the portrayal of using violence to win then they began to do the same thing in their real lives. They’re favorite show has fighting so they do not see what is wrong with that and later may even want to reenact that with their friends or just believe that violence solves their problems. “Adolescents will have viewed 16,000 simulated murders and 200,000 acts of violence by the age of 18.” (The successful Parent, a parental blog). All that this shows is that in order to be on top people need to crush their competitors and if they want to succeed then they need to do whatever it takes outside or even steal to make their way on top. With this people can see how influential cartoons are for children.

In the past cartoons for the most part had lessons and ways to engage children to learn while keeping them entertained. Now cartoons are having little to no reflection. Children are are not required to use their brains and think about how things work or learning new words or understanding the value of things. Cartoons seem to be a way to keep children quiet. With cartoons today there are no questions that could be asked because now just give them the answer. Older cartoons had children asking a number of questions the why this and how that and what makes this happen and what’s that: but now it’s nothing to ask or even to look forward to. Cartoons should bring families together so that children are being challenged more and have to use their minds to think and grow.

Cartoons are negatively impacting children. Children are not learning from cartoons and are destroying the innocent minds of children. Cartoons are too sexualized, to violent, and most definitely not educational enough. The more children watch these disengaging cartoons, the more they will be affected.

Reader Profile

      Kara wants to be a more passionate reader. She wants to take reading more seriously by reading on a daily basis. What's holding her back are other priorities. Things come up that she has to attend to and that takes up a lot of her time, which leaves none to read. A weak spot that Kara has is focus. She often finds herself not being able to concentrate on a book for a long period of time. She has to take breaks to regain focus again. 

      A book from Kara's childhood that she still loves today is Ella Enchanted. She was able to be apart of a play which caused her to have to understand the characters and understand them in a different way than just reading the book. She had to be a different type of person, more so have a different type of mindset when reading and analyzing this book, which caused a deeper connection. 

      When the question "What book would you through out of the window and why" Kara's response was "I have no idea." She hasn't read as much books as she liked which means she had a small variety to choose from. She also was not able to relate to any book that she has read. She found that all the books that she has read that were not like her in regards to race. They were mostly White and as a Black person or of any other race you would not be able to relate with what they are facing. Ella Enchanted has a bossy mother which she could semi-relate to'; and also other books held racism which she can relate to as it is faced today.

​What went well in my ILP is that I was able to get a lot of information and data entered into the database. I was able to be  advance to the next step and sort the data into specific categories. This will lead me into the final stages of the information sorting. 

What I am looking forward to is finishing with sorting the data more specifically and moving onto the next step, which will be the presentation that I will have to create. 

What stands out that happened so far is my findings in the information that I was measuring. There were many interesting things as far as the amount of money spent by the different schools in the city and comparing in to the initial budget. What also stands out is the different tools and methods that I am learning and using to sort the information that I have.

What went well in my ILP is that I am advancing in what I am doing. I am now meeting more new people and working on another aspect of my project. 

  • What are you looking forward to?
What I am looking forward to is actually creating my final project and getting the rest of the information that I need in order to complete it. I am also looking forward to going back to the office where I stay and working more on the project and comparing more collections of data. 

  • What stands out that has happened so far?
What stands out that happened so far is that I have been working with basically my mentor and creating titles for the different Object codes and Activity codes that I am working with. 

  • Add what you think is important.
What I think is important is that I am developing experience dealing with finances and also working with different kinds of project creating technology. Also I am becoming aware of what it feels like to work in a professional space.

In my ILP I have been working with amazing people that have been helping me learn how to use Excel. Now that I have mastered Excel I am now organizing important data. I love my internship because it is everything that I wanted to do and then some. Next week on Wednesday 18th I will continue to organize information and learn more about budgeting as well as  how the School District budgets their money. What I look forward to is to working with Ms. Karla and enhancing my knowledge of this practice as a whole.

For my ILP I am going to be working with Bi Vuong, who is the CFO at the School District of Philadelphia. I will be working and studying in depth about finances. I will be also rotating throughout the different divisions to get the overall experience. I have not interned yet, but we will be going over the plan that she has worked out and put into action on Tuesday October 20th. I am very excited for this opportunity because I have been interested in the financial world for practically all of my life. I look forward to working with so many professionals and being able to have a hands on experience with a profession that I will later pursue.

  Artist's Statement

My project is an article that deals with Religion and how it impacted Reconstruction. Something that may be confusing to the reader is the information and Involvement of Abraham Lincoln. I think that this element is important because everyone has the perception that Abraham Lincoln is a saint and that he was one of the main people who fought for abolishment ; but it was actually religious groups that supported him and even were big contributors in the events. I also think that the Religion and Reconstruction section may be harder to fully understand with such a small excerpt. With this section it is so much information that it is hard to summarize in a few words. Since that was such a heavy topic that has a lot of information attached to it, I had to narrow it down and make it less confusing while leaving out some information. I also think that the section that deals with Reconstruction in Alabama will be confusing because it really doesn't tie together with the whole theme, but I wanted the newspaper to be like ones that has some stories that don't connect with the main article and have a little more diversity. I think it is important to talk about the problems that were faced during Reconstruction in Alabama because the newspaper is issued from there and I wanted to have a little section that was dedicated to their home to feel as though their problems are stilled recognized and not unrecognized or overshadowed by the other issues. This matter as a whole is important because when you think of the Reconstruction era, people don't intellectually think about Religion. This newspaper was a good way to show elements of Reconstruction that some people would have never thought about. This also shows how much religion impacts history as a whole, because almost every part of history in some way has had religion impact.

Q3 Reflection

​​What I feel that I accomplished with my final drawing is the overall perspective of the classroom. I think that the ceiling came out fine also the floor lines and the back wall. I also think the door came out fine. I would change my corner separating the  window to the right and left. I wish I was able to make it look better and more clearer. I would also change the way of the picture and try harder to make it look like the room.  One drawing that I think is successful is one that has a smaller back wall and the classroom is larger in size. It has a door that is slightly opened. There is only one table and one stool. It has a nice proportion to it and is accurate with the classroom.  I think the person was able to capture the perspective of the classroom. What I learned about about one point perspective is that you have to have the have to make your picture based on the vanishing point.

Nosotros somos Nadia Green, Olivia ¨Liv¨ Cooper, Jessica ¨Jess¨ Celli, y Deja Harrison. Somos estudiantes de Science Leadership Academy. Está en 55 N 22nd St. Está cerca de 7-Eleven y Aya’s Café. Es muy grande, brillante, y amable.. Hay 465 estudiantes, 20 profesores, y 4 pisos. SLA es la única escuela a usar proyecto basado aprendizaje. ¡Qué chévere! Ofrecemos una gran variación de deportes incluyendo voleibol, béisbol, y baloncesto. También, ofrecemos muchos clubes incluyendo la Comunidad involucramiento club, CIC, y el júbilo club. Allí son muchos clubs participamos en. Liv, Deja y Nadia participan en softbol. Jess canta con Glee Club y Liv también juega voleibol.Tenemos clase de español, inglés, bioquímica, matemáticas, historia, arte, tecnología ,y teatro.    

Nuestra clase favorita es almuerzo porque es muy divertido. Nos gusta pasar un rato con amigos y comer. Nuestra otra clase favorita es inglé.s. Siempre es interesante y comico. En la clase de inglés tenemos que leer un libro el Odyssey y escribir unos papeles. El Señor Kay enseña muy bien. En la clase de matemáticas necesitamos tomar apuntes porque muy dificil. En las clases de historia, arte y tech necesito el lápiz y la computadora.. En la clase de bioquímica nosotros aprendemos que diseccionar. es super terrible y malo. ¡Es una broma! TFI es The Franklin Institute. TFI es único y es bastante divertida.

SLA es muy chévere. Tenemos divertidas cada día. No somos perezosos pero trabajadora.. Nos encanta nuestros computadoras. SLA lo pasamos bien tiene deportes. Estudiantes les encanta practicar deportes. SLA es siempre energético. Lo que más nos gusta de SLA es libertad. Nosotros es bastante sociables. Los professores enseña tranquilo y bastante estricto. Net Neutrality

​1. Net Neutrality is important for teens to understand and learn about because the FCC are the
ones that basically the ones that dictate your life on the internet. Teens need to be aware that
when they are logged onto the internet it is not private. With reading the article and the
discussions in class there is a need that teens and anyone in general needs to understand their
standing and the standing of their internet.

2. Google have spoken out a while ago about Net Neutrality. They were commenting on how a
large amount of internet providers slow down and speed up the internet that you are able to get.
Google stated ¨If Internet access providers can block some services and cut special deals that
prioritize some companies’ content over others, that would threaten the innovation that makes
the Internet awesome,” adding “No Internet access provider should block or degrade Internet
traffic, nor should they sell ‘fast lanes’ that prioritize particular Internet services over others.” I
think that internet providers should stick to their jobs and provide customers internet. I also
agree with what Google stated about blocking things from the internet would threaten the
awesomeness of the internet.

3. Many of the ISPs say that they feel like they have the right to control and block things that are
on the internet. They say that since other countries are able to censor sites; they want to do the
same and block sites that can threaten their business. Also if they do not have net neutrality

​I changed my picture with a clearer one that still focused on the theme of my message. I made the picture take up the whole page and placed the quote on the bottom left corner of the page. I wanted the audience to focus more on the picture and then have their eyes drift toward the quote. I used the bolding technique from Zen. They said bolding can make the words pop off the page. I also want the viewers to be able to read the words easily. What I learned from this is that there are many different right and wrong ways to create a poser that is appealing to people and gets their message across at the same time. I also learned the many techniques that can make your poster or page more memorable and make the people remember the message that you were trying to get across.

The reason that I chose this picture for my background is because in order to reach your goals you have to aim for them. Without an aim your arrow will go in a different direction that you anticipated. I wanted to keep the slide simple and just used the arrows and bull's eye as the main focus. I then added a quote that I created and bolded and initialized the font. I also made the font 30 to be seen easily and clearly while making it eye catching.

  • ​My internet provider is Comcast and I have a Modem/ Router and it is wireless. What is connected to my wifi is my cell phone, my mother's cell phone, my personal laptop, my television, a game station (wii), and a printer.  I also have a regular computer, a house phone, and a Kindle. 
  • What I learned about networks which is also my "OMG" moment is that the internet is more difficult and complex than it seems. It has to go through so many systems and checkpoints to actually achieve one purpose. I was surprised at how much work goes into putting images, information, and etc onto your laptop and computer screen. 
  • What I would tell people about ISPs and Home Networks is that always understand and read all of the terms and conditions of the contract that asks you to "agree." Always know what you are agreeing to and know how your Home Network is set up and how it works.
