Capstone

Posted by Maysa Wright on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at 12:59 am

For my Capstone created a website for animal awareness. The website includes what animals are endangered and how, why we need animals for our own survival, how animals have been affected during the pandemic, and ways to fight against animal cruelty.

Maysa Wright's Final Steps for the Element Print

Posted by Maysa Wright on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 10:08 pm
The name of my element is Arsenic and the atomic number is 33.  Arsenic was mined by the early Egyptian, Greek, and Chinese civilizations. Most people believe that arsenic was discovered by Albertus Magnus in 1250. He was a German alchemist. Arsenic is poisonous and it is used to make rat poison and insecticides. I got the idea for my image because arsenic is poison and that what I used for my print. For the process of making this print first I sketched it out a couple of times. Once I found the drawling I wanted to draw I drew it on a piece of thin paper. After that I traced the drawling on the a piece of foam but backwards so it would come out the correct way on the final print. Then I rubbed the paint of the foam and printed it on a white piece of paper. When I finished printing I ripped off the the extra paper on the sides of my prints and I got two pieces of construction paper and matted two of my prints and left the last print unmatched. If I could have done this differently I would have ripped off the extract paper on the sides because you could tell the weren't clean rips if you look on the print. I found printing most interesting because I liked using the different colors for each print to see how nice you drawling was.

Printmaking is making pictures or designs by printing them from plates or blocks.
Printmaking is important because  a lot of artists have found their place in printmaking. Also graffiti and street is a form of printmaking with stencils.

Printmaking is revolutionary because it still exist after all the many cultural and technological changes over the years. A lot of new and talented artists have found their place in printmaking.

I found this painting interesting because I found the print unique and the detail she used on the flowers and the moon.

I noticed that the setting of this print is at night.
I wonder what sparked the idea of artist to make this print.
What if the artist included people in this print to make the print even more engaging.

Maysa's Remix Slide

Posted by Maysa Wright on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at 10:06 am
These are most of the things that I like or enjoy doing.

From the critique to my slide I made a lot of mistakes. I learned that I should not use slanted front and to make my text bold. My pictures and my background was two different colors so it clashed. I used a lot of pictures so the slide looked cluttered and not balanced. I didn’t really include the research that I found from the websites in my slide.

I made the made the changes to make my slide look more pleasing to look at. I used a lot  less pictures and change my background to just white so the pictures and the background didn’t clash or be distracting. I changed my font from slanted to straight so my slide could be comprehended. I chose to make my slide bold so it could be seen from a far distance too.

The research helped me to make a better slide because it said to make the text big and  bold and that’s what I did. I also tried to make it look more billboard like so it could grab people’s attention and to make the pictures bleed. The source I used was Presentation Zen.

I chose to make the slide this way because it explains me and what I like to do. What influenced my decision making was when I looked at the slide did I want one of the pictures to look this way or that did I want it to look a completely different way and which way I preferred was how the slide looked in the end. I also didn’t put too many images on my slide because I didn’t want the slide to be cluttered with things. I wanted it to look spacious and balanced.
