Predictions on Psychophats

Posted by Alejandro Bautista-Garcia in Science And Society - Best - Y on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at 2:53 pm

As society progressed we, as a human species learned how to use technology in our advantage, later on inventing new ways of predicting new things such as how many foods will need to be harvested in order to feed a population or even better for safety such as finding patterns or predicting crime in certain minds. As we know finding patterns that relate a psychopath can help the world from a lot of hurt and sadness so machines that can find these patterns can be very useful.

Some major issues associated with this are the fact that brain changes over time altering the outcomes for example if a young child were to be labeled as the black sheep or the bad seed of the family it could ruin their future due to the fact that the machine is not perfect affecting the individual's life and everyone around them.

Other reason why this practice isn’t very useful is the issue of since the brain changes and the studies need to be done on young teenagers it could never really be very accurate due to the fact that the brain is done maturing around the 20’s even late 20’s and that is when you can find a better formed example of a fully grown psychopath. For example psychopaths tend to start doing rebellious acts at a young age some even at the age of 7! But most of or at least a minimum of these acts are later on stopped due to the parents taking actions which later on changed the outcome of their brain.

Most of the signs of being a psychopath are the lowering of affection due to other humans distress which means that if a psychopath and a average person were having a “heart to heart” conversation the psychopath would show little to no care about the others feelings almost as if there was nothing wrong. A lowering in decision making, meaning if the psychopath were to talk about a very gruesome act such as blowing up a building he wouldn’t really feel the nervousness or think of the acts following such act meaning they wouldn’t really think of caring about jail etc. Lastly as a psychopaths they see their wrongs as rights and not care about others, meaning if I were to think robbing a bank it’s a terrible idea they would see it as a good or average thing with “fun” feelings.

In conclusion this would be a very useful experiment and machine to predict psychopaths but currently technology is not too advanced to have a proper result and more data is needed.

Alejandro Bautista Garcia Capstone

Posted by Alejandro Bautista-Garcia in Capstone - Bey - Wed on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at 11:30 pm

As Senior year came in closer I often wondering what I should do for my capstone, I never really knew what to do and always felt stressed about it since it was a project that I had to dedicate myself to for a whole year. As time passed by I always heard of my peers starting their ideas or already finding out what to do, at this point I asked my advisor, Mark Bey what I should do and he came with one of the most innovative and impressive ideas as always and told me that I should do my capstone of how live is an immigrant. I took this rough diamond idea and perfected it by turning into a documentary comparing lives of three types of people. Someone who was born here, born outside of the U.S and moved when young and lastly someone who moved to the U.S very recently.

After taking this idea I realized that I didn't have so much time so I got started on it since I needed very specific people and barely had anytime to work on it. As weeks went buy I had a very nice amount of people that wanted to be part of my documentary as well as aiding me throughout this process. Many days later I compiled a good amount of interview and decided to show my advisor as time progressed in which my advisor often gave me good tips on how to make my documentary better which I'm proud of and I wish the world to see.

Overall this idea was very fun and I really enjoyed completing because I learned about many people who I only knew so little about and made me be closer with them since I often knew this people as acquaintances or sports friends and now we have a better bond and communication since everything that was sad was very personal yet useful.

Davidson, Adam. "Debunking the Myth of the Job-Stealing Immigrant." The New York Times. The New York Times, 24 Mar. 2015. Web. 05 Feb. 2016. This source is very useful because it talks about a myth that many uneducated citizen in the U.S. seem to have and use whenever they feel like. I'm going to use this link to understand different topics or immigration and how most of their lives are afterwards. This link mostly talks about why this myth is wrong and how it actually works.

Gilbertson, Ashley. "Uncertain Journeys." The New York Times. The New York Times, 20 Nov. 2015. Web. 05 Feb. 2016. I’m going to use this source to feel or be prepared to what most people have to say about their lives as non-natives from the U.S. This article is about Syrian refugees who had to flee their ordinary lives because of the acts done by terrorist who had be done some horrendous acts for example the Paris attack. This just helps me to expect more crazy or untold stories that not that many have heard in their lives and I want to project all of it during my project.

Land, Bev. ""An American Alien" by Dania Ramirez." YouTube. YouTube, 1 Jan. 2015. Web. 05 Feb. 2016. This is an outstanding story about a little Dominican parents that had to leave their daughters and other family members. After this they were talking about their lives as how it changed meaning moving to the U.S. going to college, learning the english language, owning a house, struggling through many things and even starting a new family. This is a great source because I really need sources like this or information like this in my interview. This helps me understand more and more of the immigrant life.

Leland, John. "Fleeing Violence in Honduras, a Teenage Boy Seeks Asylum in Brooklyn." The New York Times. The New York Times, 05 Dec. 2014. Web. 05 Feb. 2016. So pretty much this explains why most of the immigrants in the U.S. come to the U.S. to begging with. This is useful because I can expect a maximum of one person in my interview process to have a story about violence or something related to it. This source just talks about why this boy moved from Honduras to Brooklyn due to violence. This source will mostly help me to prepare myself to expect something big and make better questions for my interviewees.

This link will help me to understand what most people have to go through in order to become a citizen of a country. This source will also help me to formulate better questions throughout my interview process.

This link is very important to my research because it talks a whole lot about being a first generation student coming from a family who migrated not so long ago. I’m going to use this source to understand how most of these people think and how they see their world. This source mainly talks about the first generation students or family members and how they live their lives. This mostly helps me with more research questions to think of and maybe how to get to important stories out of them.

This incredible story is about a Turkish men who was affected by ISIS and how his life went from being the best in the world to complete hell. After a while everything started to get better, he decided to learn as much as possible I believe even learning roughly 3 languages followed earning a citizenship in Austria and getting things better with his family. I like this source because it is exactly what I wanted to learn about and it is exactly what I want to show people in my movie.

This link is very useful because it talks about the life of many immigrants without papers in the U.S. and how difficult it is at the beginning but by doing the right process their lives can change very quickly and achieve the American dream that all immigrants want to achieve. this teaches me what to expect in my upcoming interviews for example people like I stated above and other sort of things. This source s mostly useful for my research and question making.

I’m going to use this website for some of my capstones questions because by doing so it will give me a better understanding on how to obtain stories from whoever I will be interviewing in the future. This article is about what would be right in terms of morale about the refugees. It talks about how nowadays different cultures are often generalized, a few examples that was brought up during this article was “Brits are reserved, Americans are outgoing” while “Jews are greedy and Muslims are terrorist”.

Major Event- Trail of tears

Posted by Alejandro Bautista-Garcia in American History - Jonas - C on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at 8:16 am

In 1838 and 1839, as part of Andrew Jackson’s Indian Removal policy, the cherokee nation was forced to move from the east side of the Mississippi river and migrate to an era where the present Oklahoma is. The cherokee called this migration “The Trail Of Tears” because  f its devastating effects. During the migration they faced hunger, diseases, and exhaustion on a forced march. Over 4,000 out of 15,000 of the cherokee’s died.

A Monster Calls By Patrick Ness

Posted by Alejandro Bautista-Garcia in English 3 - Rami - D on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at 9:11 pm

A Monster Calls Book Review

A monster calls a novel written by Patrick Ness,  a british american journalist who is best known for his young adult novels and was also inspired by the idea of Siobhan Dowd who was a British writer and activist, is a dark funny and very heartwarming story about a young british kid named Connor who is thirteen years old and lives with his very ill mother who is suffering from cancer over the time he’s meet by this yew tree monster and surprisingly he’s not scared when the story unfolds.

This amazing book is a horror and comedic story about a Kid named Connor who lives in Britain with his ill mother that is suffering from cancer, one day Connor wakes up at 12:07 a random night  and peeks out the window after realizing someone or something was calling his name several times, after looking out the window he knew a monster was calling his name but after seeing the monster face to face he was not scared in fact Connor was very disappointed, over time Connor keeps waking up every other night at 12:07 to the monster who has three stories to tell him and the last story needs to be told by Connor which needs to be the truth or the monster will eat him. over the time Connors mom keeps getting worse and worse and the monster tells each story until one day is Connor’s turn. The monster begins to pressure Connor to tell the truth about how he is scared of losing his mom and in the end Connor does so.

Certain things I enjoyed about this book was the language, because the characters had a very particular accent mainly because they were from britain but Patrick Ness showed us the difference between an American accent and a British accent  when Connor and his dad who is American were having a conversation. Some areas where the book exceeded expectations were the story structure because it was very linear and understandable which I really loved but in other parts during the story structure it falls short is at the very beginning when Connor meets the monster he randomly wakes up so it sometimes throws you of the course of the story making you think where the character is and what period of time is he. I loved how the book was well illustrated with the story to give it a better suspense effect by showing the reader what exactly is happening to the characters in the book, sort of a way that makes the reader feel what is happening to what each individual character is feeling during ceteain situations. One of my favorite part of the book was when the yew tree was telling the first story so the monster could teach Connor a life lesson. My least favorite part was when Connor at the beginning was eaten and the story lost a course for a few lines.

My favorite character to this very well structured book would be the pit monster or as we know it the yew tree, not because he’s very mysterious and terrifying besides the fact that he’s always waiting for connor outside his window but because he had some really important life lessons during the course of Connors moms death. “There is not always a good guy. Nor is there always a bad one. Most people are somewhere in between.”  this quote was told by the yew tree and it was really interesting because if this quote is implemented in life it can speak the truth by this I mean that in real life some people are accused of  doing this that they didn’t do and they suffer from it so that’s why I chose the yew tree because he’s very philosophical and deep inside he’s not a “monster”. A character that I very much disliked was Lily Connor’s former best friend. The reason why I dislike her is because she told everyone at school that Connor’s mom had cancer and this was a very meaningful secret that Connor told Lilly and he did not want anyone to know, besides that Lilly quiet did not understand what Connor was going through and basically Lilly was acting as if everything was perfect while Connor was digging himself in a deeper hole of depression and loneliness.

If I could relate to one of the characters  it would need to be Connor because in the end

Connor is like all of us, strong mentally and emotionally whenever life throws a curveball at us.

And if I felt some of the things that Connor did feel was definitely depression and loneliness for other reasons but after a while as a person you need to realize that things get better when you accept the fact of the situations you happened to be put in.

In conclusion I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys horror and fiction

and someone who is okay and willing to have a laugh and a cry all at the same time while reading this book. And an specific type of person who would like to read this book would be anyone who loves horror in general.

What people need to know about the community of Philadelphia is that Philadelphia

is the friendliest place in on earth, it also has the best food that you could ever find in the whole country and what I’m talking about is of course cheesesteaks because we are original and no one can make it as good as ours. Another thing that makes me proud of living in Philadelphia is that from my experience is that we are mostly known because of rocky and the Rocky steps.

History over the years has changed how society looks at religion. Society all the time has a bad effect in our community. Back in the days people were able to freely be who they were and act the way they wanted, over time terrible things happened such as colonialism and slavery this two can be related because they forced people to look like others in order to survived or to adapt to their ways of living, religion was also a big part of history and society  because back then it used to define who you were and what you could do.

In 9/20/13. We learned about how the world is surrounded and ruled by money and how certain things need to be done in order for companies and countries economy to grow. In my class which is Iron stream we were doing a trial about sweatshops and multinational companies , in which we had  to do  trial about who was the most guiltiest in which was consisted by poor country workers, U.S consumers, system of profit , elites which were the government and multinational companies such as nike etc. In the end of the trial we found the elites to be the most guilty because nowadays society is so focused on money that their own government will let things such as low payment jobs in factories in order for them to get a huge profit without care of their own people. In journal # 6, humans relate to the natural world by taking care of it because if we didn’t have the environment like the ecosystem we would die off.

People back then used to take other peoples culture and it used to go by the word of “colonialism” from my point of view it’s invading someone's country over and just for their people and resources. On May 27th we started a project called Colonialism Museum and in this project I talked about the colonialism in which we had to choose a country that got colonized and talk about it, I chose Hawaii and I talked about how colonialism is bad and how it destroys the colonizer, I said that Hawaii’s culture change drastically by the british from the way the Hawaiians used to eat to the ways they used to dress. Also in Journal #46, 5/7/14, I also talk about colonialism by saying “Colonization and colonizer they both change. Basically a colonizer and what happens in a colonization is bad. On top of that when a place is colonized the colonizer will loot from the colonized”.

The Renaissance was a big era not just because of it’s rapid and inspiring way of inventions such as machines and paintings and also a lot of revolutions and poetry. In the revolution Is a link connected to my French revolution trial that is very interesting to me because the french was oppressing it’s own people and Haitians in fact the only people that had to pay taxes were the poor and the middle class the religious such as Christians didn’t have to pay a penny and so did the rich too. in the end the revolution ended when the poor and middle class took charge of this by killing the king and his  family. The poetry link talks about a poem that I made called the somebodies and the somebodies  were Haitians who lived during the renaissance era and they worked for the french and lived in the French land but they weren’t legally French.

In conclusion Society now and back then was very different but if you think about it  we still oppress our own people by the way they talk, or dress. Back then it used to be whether where you came from or what you skin color was, in the end if you think about it very deeply we are colonizing others so we can get control over them, some colonizer such as media. In the end Colonization like this needs to change just like society needs to do as such.

La leyenda del murcielago

La Leyenda Del Murciélago Por Alejandro Bautista Garcia:

Part I

Me llamo Salvador Allende.

Revolution Guidebook Project

Posted by Alejandro Bautista-Garcia in World History - Block - B on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at 12:37 am
During this Unit of World History my classmates and I have been learning all about how important a  revolution can be.We as a class had to make up questions like "How do you create a successful revolution?" and  "How can a revolution gain supporters?" Naturally our class went straight into a brainstorming of great answer answer for some of these questions. Our ending project for the Unit was to research a question of our choice and to then make a digital story.
Below is the digital story that I created. My story is based around the idea that in order to have a for a revolution in order to gain supporters you must spread awareness of your cause through the people, you must need to show others what the big picture and then narrow it down to show the big difference. With that question many others came. Also this digital story I believe is the most effective way to get thoughts and ideas across to a great number of people while still changing the lives of so many.

Monolouge #1 - Ameer

(Son of a construction worker of the keystone xl)x2

Two children meet up at a construction site and talk about their father’s work

Peauterbread is sitting on an oily pipe

Peauterbread: aww man I soiled my trousers sitting on this stupid pipe!

Peauterbread: ehh... What

*smacks himself in the face softly

Peauterbread: what is peasant mean?

P: I'm not a kid. I'm 6 years old now

*holds up 4 fingers

P: anyways you don't look too old yourself

P: wow a rich amount of money... must be a lot...

P: Well what’s your name dude

P: Uhhh… ok… My names Peaturbread. My daddy works here... He knows a lot about the keystone XL project they're working on

P: My daddy says that it helps out a lot with the green house gasses...

P: The world has too many greenhouse gasses… wha? So… this is actually bad? Hey! my dad's not stupid!

P: well maybe that's not what my dad said but he's not stupid.

P: my dad says jobs help the economy... So it would be a good thing that he's working here, and those

P: How is what I said dumb? It helps the economoly, or the umm... The umm.. Economy

P: What not true!!! And I never called youuu smart at all.

P: Well no... But my daddy sure knows a lot about the pipeline.

P: whhaaaaaat boooring!!! All i know is that its a one way pipeline and its giving my daddy a way to support his family

P: I’m not a child!

P: I don’t want to hear about this stupid pipeline. It’s just a reason for my father to get a little extra money

P: My father is working on the pipeline.

P: My daddy only needs to work here because he takes care of me by himself… so he needs the extra money.

P: What is divorced mean?

P: Well my mom left when I was 2… so I guess thats what you mean?

P: What do you mean my parents only separated because of me?

P: My Parents do love me!... My daddy does all he can to take care of me… and my mommy only left because he was abusive.

P: Shut UP!!!! you act like your family is sooo perfect, Shut  up!

P: See You have problems too. Don’t go around attacking other people you big hypocrite!

P: Do you think it’s all going to be all right? Because you know your father might get poorer and poorer! Don’t think everything is going to be all right.

P: Wait so you don’t actually like this pipeline? All this time...

(Peauterbread slowly walks away…)

P: How sad.

Sean walks up

Sean: Peasant!

Sean: peasant. entertain me

Sean: hmf never mind that. What are you doing here? This place isn't for kids.

Sean: I'm 9. and my father is a rich man. He has a lot of money

S: I’m Sean… I don’t really need to know… your name

S: If he knew a lot about the Keystone XL why would he be working here?

S: This world has too many greenhouse gasses, and the Keystone XL emits too much of it. If he thinks that greenhouse gasses help the environment your dad is stupid.

S: He is stupid! He’s definitely not as smart as my father.

S: anyways with those rags you're wearing your family must be working here for the 20,000 jobs it's opening up.

S: Those 20,000 jobs it opens up however, don't help the economy. It’d be killing more jobs than it creates… I know I’m smart, don’t thank me. Hah, you made your father sound dumber than you realise, or maybe you're just the dumb one.

S: Do you actually know anything about this pipeline?

S: well this is a 1700 mile pipeline. So this pipeline will cost a looot of money and make my daddy a lot of money-

S: ugh children… I’m trying to explain to you trash… how this works. Maybe it’s because you’re only a six year old child.

S: This line runs from Canada all the way to the gulf . It’s a one way North American Pipeline.

S: Wait… What does your father do here?

S: Oh haha! He’s one of those guys. Doing manual labor.

S: So. wait your parents are divorced or something?

S: Like Separated

S: Your parents only separated because of you..

S: Your Parents don’t love you.

S: Simple... lame... laborer problems

S: My family is perfect. Or… at least it will be again once my dad makes money off of the pipeline...

S: that’s a big word for a little boy like you… hypocrite… wow! My family is only in a temporary financial crisis. My father made a bad business deal is all.

S: No… No I’m not talking to you anymore… I don’t even like this silly pipeline… Your right. This is probably a bad deal

S: If one thing goes wrong with this pipeline it’s all over… I single pipeline traveling 1700 miles… a 7 billion dollar project… If one thing goes on it’s all over…

Element Project

Inquiry:
I asked questions like What is nickel? How can it be used as art and where was it made before? Who created it?

Research: I did a fair amount of research to teach myself on nickel and how was it made.

Collaboration: My classmates and my teacher basically critiqued my drawings and helped me choose which one was the best out of all of them.

Presentation:
To present my drawing I had to softly cut the drawing so it looked more professional  and people could tell what I have done in my drawing.

Reflection: I reflected and sometimes I think of what would it look like if I did the same drawing again but a lot much better and nicer.

IRP Project

Posted by Alejandro Bautista-Garcia in English 1 - Dunn on Friday, June 7, 2013 at 2:34 pm

V for Vendetta by Alan Moore and David Lloyd is a powerful dark storytelling book

that is about a city in London that lost it’s freedom and being ruled by this computer who is

used by the dictator of England also known as “fate” then a camp survivor that scaped and

name himself as “V” wants to give the freedom and equal rights to the civilians by killing

people who are in power and also people who were part of the camp where the used to

torture/experiment with people where the main character “V” escaped from.

There are two main characters in the book V for Vendetta who are V and Eve this two characters each have a background about what happened, The character “V” was captured in a camp and his room  number was 5 which is where he got his name; this happened around the 1970’s there was  a war involving London England and the government of London got completely wiped out by people with a lot of power who later on became into a dictatorship and after they

got their power, the Dictator Susan or fate who is a guy made all the asian, Blacks, gays

to go to camp’s where they would torture them and test experiments.

Experiment 5 “V” got captured during this movement of dictatorship and was sent to camps  over the time the test subjects would die slowly while V was still somehow immune to this

injections and toxins that were put in his body, he had a doctor that would often check on him

and write down on his journal saying that when he looked at V she would feel like V was

feeling pity about all of the scientist making experiments on people, over the time the

doctor would give him materials to V to make his flowers grow but one day V used

the materials to make  an explosion and escaped.

After V escape he goes around the city of London saving people and helping citizens

rebel against the city ruled by a dictator, during his journey   he basically he blows up

certain buildings that are connected to the main computer in the dictators office and after

he does that he kills the people that were in the camps that tortured people, also he went

after the most wealthiest people that work in the government or that were linked to

the dictator.

In conclusion I think this book was one the greatest book or graphic novels I have ever read

It has a good story telling and it’s very gripping because as soon as you start reading it

you want to know what’s going to happen next and how everything is going to go down.

Global Warming

Posted by Alejandro Bautista-Garcia in English 1 - Dunn on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at 12:35 am
Hey guys I have more information on the pdf file so If you want to just read it from there

It’s been a hot year

Hi guys!, Today I am writing my 3rd  blog post, this is for  Mrs. Dunn’s English 9 class. I know it has been a very hot year for all of us and it’s really ad, but I will continue my agent of change to help this change in temperature and make more people aware of what is happening to the world each day.

          Background Knowledge:

Over the last year, I have been informing and warned people in  SLA community and outside of it  about Global warming and the climate changes.

The reason I picked this topic for this project is because I always wondered what would happened to the earth and what would be the outcome of it in through out the years. I also chose this because most of the people know about it this global problem and some of them don’t and I started getting ideas of making people change their minds and giving them information in how YOU can help and take care of the earth, I saw this as a life challenge. I always wanted to help    some how in some way, I just felt that I had to do something to change the future, my future. Like start using less electricity or planting trees anything that was clean and on favor of reducing the global warming effect .

What I did

Over the last couple of days I have been recycling  plastic and changing my house’s light bulbs into more efficient ones that are more durable and environmental friendly. I bought new light bulbs that were way better that the old ones we had, I also planted new trees in a park near my house, also I recycle all the things that I could recycle from my house.  I also did a little  presentations to my Mom, Step-Dad, and my friends. I explained to them what I was doing for  this project and what my agent of change was. It was successful and over 60 items in the first 2 weeks. From the money that I make , I take away a 5% to buy more things that can help the earth and that are more environmental friendly.

I’m still recycling everything I can I also plant trees once every 3 weeks.

Impact

Some of the impact of the global warming can be:

Greenhouse gases can stay in the atmosphere for an amount of years ranging from decades to hundreds and thousands of years. No matter what we do, global warming is going to have some effect on Earth. Here are the 5 deadliest effects of global warming.

As northern countries warm, disease carrying insects migrate north, bringing plague and disease with them. Indeed some scientists believe that in some countries, thanks to global warming.

As the temperature of oceans rises, so will the probability of more frequent and stronger hurricanes. We saw in this in 2004 and 2005.

Although some areas of Earth will become wetter due to global warming, other areas will suffer serious droughts and heat waves. Africa will receive the worst of it, with more severe droughts also expected in Europe. Water is already a dangerously rare commodity in Africa, and according to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, global warming will exacerbate the conditions and could lead to conflicts and war.

Negative space drawing

Posted by Alejandro Bautista-Garcia in Art - Freshman - Hull on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at 11:02 am
What is negative space?

a. Negative space is the space around an object.

Explain how you found negative space in 1. your cut out?, 2. in your still life drawing?

The way I found negative space in my cut out was a little hard. I look at the opposite color and then I started to cut out what it was suppose to be a reflection of the original picture. The way I found negative in the still life drawing was kinda difficult, because I didn't know how to draw the pictures exactly.

Why does it help an artist to see in negative space?

c. I think that negative space could help an artist because they can observe the actual picture to more space and length, it helps define the object and help create interest and contrast.

Does seeing in negative space enhance drawings, why or why not?

d. Seeing in negative space enhance drawings because it gives objects their own space to express what they are and also it kind of adds emotions into it.

Art room Assignment

a. What is one thing that your learned specifically that you did not know before.
One thing that I learned was making the drawing look 3D.
  b. How did leaning this thing make your drawings better.
It makes the drawing better because it makes it stand out and it's not flat.

  c. If you did this assignment again, what would you do differently?
If would draw another perspective of the room.
  d. What is your advice to someone who has never drawn a one point perspective drawing before?
To try to make it 3D and just do it as how the real view of the room looks like.
  e. What resource helped you the most and why?

The rise and fall of Macbeth

Posted by Alejandro Bautista-Garcia in English 1 - Dunn on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at 10:29 am
Macbeth

  1.       a. What is this project about? This project is about Macbeth’s rise and fall of his life and loyalty. Macbeth was a trustworthy man that let his dark desires change his life, he was a clean hearted man that over the time his heart grew of power and ambition making bad decision and at the end he was filled with regret.

  1.     b. What was your process like in crafting the creative portion of this project?

  1. My idea for the first time of making this project was making a collage of Macbeth’s life  of how it went from a rise to a downfall, but then to make it much better and interesting I chose to make a comic with the quotes from each act and have a little side story so the reader could understand what’s going on with Macbeth’s life.

  1.       c. What difficulties did you encounter in doing this project? How did you overcome them?

  1. Some difficulties that I encountered doing this projects was finding the pictures from the same play but I overcame this idea by changing my idea of the collage into a comic with quotes and a little more information to make a story.

  1.       d. What are you most proud of in this project? Why?

  1. What i’m proud of making the project in one day not because I was procrastinating but I just got the date that it was due wrong, also because some of my friends thought the comic was really good due to the fact that i read comics I must had picked up some ideas on how to make the comics, I’m proud of this also because it’s my first comic project that I made and most of my friends thought it was really great.

  1.       e. What would you change/do differently if given the chance?

  1. What I would change if I do this project again would be making the story longer or making an actual collage.

  1.       f. What did you learn from your colleagues' presentations/projects?

  1. What I learned was that they had a lot of brilliant ideas on how to do this also they kind of knew what to do since the beginning of the project so they were very prepared for this.

  1.       g. What did you learn about yourself as a result of doing this project?

  1. I learned that Macbeth after all was easy and I remember I used to say it was confusing in some parts of the story.

Blog post 2 Global Warming

GLOBAL WARMING

global_warming_panic

For this blog I learned that most of the people that I know will  not  give up  their  electronics

since their electronics revolves around their lives, I did some research on this by making
a survey were all my friends answered questions about global warming and they all said that
they used lots of technology every day because they already got attached to it and they can do
things quick and easier with them.

electronics

Some research that I did for this project was to look more information about global warming and also ask questions about this world problem to my engineering teacher Mr. VK ; from his point of view of the global warming I learned that this was

a big thing now than it was before also I learned that some people is doing little things about
this but it’s not enough to actually help because the United States is scared that if they
pay for this to make things that we use daily more efficient and less damageable to the earths
Ozone layer, What I think of this is that the United States should at least try on making a little
more improvement on this big problem that the United States and the world is dealing with. Also
what I wonder is why is this problem was building up from years ago why didn’t the world make
an action on this problem right when it was happening.
Unknown

For  my next blog i will research deeply in this problem and  answer some of my questions that i still wonder about global warming and what is going to happened if we don’t take action on this

This are the answers that Mr. VK about global warming

Is global warming unprecedented? we know its happening there is no debate outside the people that have a financial gain and outside of what’s happening.

Is global warming catastrophic? its getting there and i think if we change our ways of living on time we can
help it to stop but if not then it will get a lot worst
Is global warming occurring? yes
Have the forecasts of global warming been confirmed by actual measurements? yes. and actually the measurments are showing that is much worse that the what the models predicted.

Are carbon dioxide emissions from burning fossil fuels the primary cause of climate change? they are the largest but they are other important factors including from burning foils fuels and other gases from our production of fertelizers.
Can the Earth's temperature be expected to rise between 2.5 degrees Fahrenheit in this century as has been reported? I think it will be lucky if it didn’t rise to 5 because temperatures at the ecuador have been the same and temperature at the north pole has been from 6-9 degrees.

Would a modest increase in the temperature of the planet necessarily be bad? The overval effects would be negative the increase of the temperatures and the water also there are reports the of new diseases and animals and we believe there is about 4 more decades worth of more fishes in the ocean.
Are there any potential benefits? If you live along the coast in an arctic region you would have a longer period of soil.
Is there scientific consensus that global warming is underway?  yes.
If so, how was this consensus determined? theres no data that does not support that the global warming is not occurring zero all the data shows that it is occurring one simple and important piece and is that the earth
would be at -4 degrees which means that there wouldn’t be any global warming and we know that if there is something that traps heat and it doesn’t then that is false because there’s is heat in the air.

Are we facing 20-foot sea level rise because of global warming? there is a decimal error its only 2 foot there increase in water it would be about a 5 not 20.
In your professional opinion what is biggest preventive measure that we could take  against global warming? driving less or higher efficiency cars and buying fewer items from china if we could just fix broken things
What has the  U.S. done so far? nothing  And is this enough? no.

Book review on MAUS

Posted by Alejandro Bautista-Garcia on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at 7:32 am
MAUS by Art Spiegelman is a  interesting and a sad book about how a Jewish family
tried to survive the Holocaust from the beginning to the end. Its a true story, a graphic novel and
a winner of the Pulitzer  prize.MAUS its based on a true story of Vladek Spiegelman who is the father of Artie Spiegelman was being interviewed at his house or outside his living area, this story was acted in animals types for example the Jews were mice, the Natzis were cats and the
pigs were Christians or Catholics and dogs were Atheist or characters that weren’t important or that they only had a few comments to say. This story was told was told by Vladek Spiegelman through the eyes of mice.

MAUS is about a Vladek Spiegelman and he tells his live to his son Artie Spiegelman

which is trying to make a book about the holocaust, this book talks about how Vladek Spiegelman lives and how his life was before, during and after the holocaust, Vladek Spiegelman  life takes  place in poland were Vladek is married to Anja and together over the time they saw what the nazis were doing to poland day by day, their life and family was
being destroyed little by little every week, every week the nazis were taking over poland and killing more jewish people so that made them horrified so they had to move from where they actually lived to other houses and so on, their family also was  being broken apart because the nazis would shoot them if they tried to ran away or if they got caught selling something’s  that  they  weren’t allowed to like sugar or bread, and most of the times they would either be  send to the camps or they would get sent to the ovens, Vladek and his family were losing money and their house were the rest of the family was living in which it was about 10 to 13 people until vladek and Anja got capture by the Nazis and then sent to the camps but their families didn’t  make it alive because they died trying  to survive or they got sent straight to the gas chambers, Vladek and Anja after they got capture they were sent to different camps
but Vladek managed to talk to Anja by sending her letters trough a lady friends with Vladek and Anja, almost by the end of the year the americans fought the nazis allowing Vladek and Anja free to run off to the city, but Vladek went with the other jews that were in the camp then they went to
the ran into this farms were the americans were in and they helped Vladek and the others to get back home, then Vladek went to get Anja at their seconds dads house who died in the ovens , later on Anja  died because she wasn’t strong enough after the camps.
This book is not related to me at all because this situation where they are is not cant
really connect with me because they got captured by nazis but if i was them i would
choose the same things they did to survive because its basically a guide in how to
survive in a nazi attack.but if i was in this situation i would need to do what Vladek did in this situations, like knowing lots of people that you could trust paying off guards also knowing about how to fix shoes because Vladek need it to fix a guards shoes and when he did that he had a less chance of getting killed also knowing the surroundings of the cities. i think this book was really good on how they showed and tell
what was going on in their life’s and how they reacted to this problems and also the outcome
of this situation. I really liked this book because of the intensity of how the story was told and
what was going on, the only weakness of the it would to explain the types of characters like the
dogs and pigs and something that i would change would be the types of animals and what religion were they

Intro: In technology we learned we learned how to make good slides., but i thought i was doing a good job at it. However when i was reading the website i learned that i was doing it the wrong way and the readers would get either bored or not pay attention to me because  i had everything that i was going to say on my slides

Script: Before we did this project I kind of taught my self how to make power point presentation.  but now that i did a little research on it, now I know  that i don't need to use  full sentences on my slides.  Now I know that most of those words are not necessary and I just need a few of them to let the reader know some of the information but also my attention.  I also learned that that I need to leave the background of the slide a very light color to add contrast to it.  Those are the things that I learned from this project. I also learned more about myself because i had to look for things that i liked.

Script for the new slide:
At technology class after the presentation we learned how to make slides that they were simple and easier to understand and without saying a lot things also it would look more professional  also the new one would grab the attention of everyone that is reading it or think that it is interesting also the slide would need to be of a few colors about two colors.

Global Warming-Blog Post 1

Posted by Alejandro Bautista-Garcia in English 1 - Dunn on Thursday, November 29, 2012 at 12:23 pm

Hi my name is Alejandro and my project is about global warming.
In English we are doing a project called you and the world where we pick an issue in the world to talk about. For my issue I chose global warming.

Global warming is a huge well known problem, that many people are aware of yet they do not do anything about this terrible issue in the world. Global warming causes the polar ice caps to melt causing death to a lot of earth's animals and ecosystems.

images
Above, melting ice caps (source).

I’m interested in this topic about the issues in the world  because i hear of this issue for a long that i wanted to learn more about it and I wanted to know what happens to the earth every year and what would happened if it keeps going on in the world.

images-1
Above, polar bear on broken ice (source).

The Global Warming started as known from the scientist approximately about the 1500’s and kept going until now 2012, over the time it changed the and switch the earth temperature and made the earth hotter melting glaciers, damaging ecosystems, nature and animals too.

Some of the causes of global warming are: green house gasses, cars,
industries, electronics, smoke and fossil fuels. Sometimes even the smallest things that we do not even think about can cause global warming. For example, turning on and off a light switch.

Some small things that you can do every day to prevent global warming.
Are to not watch as much TV, to not turn lights on as often, to ride your bike or walk more often, because they burn fuel. These things are helpful to the ecosystem and the Ozone layer.

Throughout my project I will learn more about how I can help the earth, and put a stop to global warming, and I will educate the readers on global warming and how to stop it. Thank you for reading, and I will post my second blog entry soon.

ASSIGMENT 1:
1)My internet comes through the lobby of my apartment then to my room.
2)My ISP is Comcast.
3)My internet cost 39.99 per month and per year it cost $480.
4)My home network is an ethernet.
5)Things are connected wireless and one wired.

ASSIGMENT 2:
this diagram represents my home network, the cloud above represents the internet that is provided by Comcast, you can learn how my internet goes through  hat goes trough my home through the ISP wire the it goes through the the modem that makes internet available  to the
wireless airport that spreads the internet across other devices like phones, movies, television,
and printers.
