Rasa Watson Capstone

For my capstone, I hosted a virtual cheer clinic. Cheerleading has become one of my biggest passions in high school. My goal was to host a cheer clinic for younger students in middle school, so they could have the opportunity to see what competitive cheer looks like, as well as trying to prove stereotypes and misconceptions about cheerleading wrong. I ended up opening my clinic to people of all ages due to not having access to Science Leadership Academy at Beeber. My in-person event would have included stunting, jumping, tumbling, a dance, and a cheer. However, due to Covid-19, my virtual lesson was a dance, a cheer, and conversation about the purpose of my lesson on a zoom meeting. By hosting this meeting I hope to have made a small impact on each participant to spread the reality of what being a cheerleader really is. Below is a mash-up video of the dance I taught during my virtual clinic along with a short clip of the zoom meeting.
