My First Job Interview The clock slowly ticked on. As I turned to my left, I was greeted by man, the bright lights glistening his smooth bald head. “Are you nervous?” he asked. “Nope, I’m cool as a cucumber.”, or so I thought The strange man started to ramble on, but I tuned him out. Today was a huge milestone. About 3 weeks ago I had applied for a lucrative job at Apple. Although the chances were slim, I still held a strong grasp of hope. I patiently waited, thinking back to a time where I was this nervous for an interview. (As they called my name, I stood up and took a glance of the room. There were at least 100 kids all dressed up, all hoping for a spot at Stanford. Some stuck out, like Glenn from my Calc class and Sabrina from my advisory. We were all cool with each other, but there was no time for chatter today. Just before I entered the interview room, I quickly but carefully folded my sleeves up, tucked in my shirt, and put on my best smile, trying to make an amazing first impression. ) And just as I did many years ago, I carefully folded my sleeves, tucked in my shirt, and put on my best smile. Hoping for a little of the luck that got me into Stanford.
