Darlenny Rodriguez Capstone
My capstone was at senior sports banquet held on the SLA Cafe. I got the idea from a goodbye party I threw for the seniors of the softball baseball team at the end of last school year. I realized how big of an impact it had on them and thought that all the the athletes for all of the sports deserved that, not just baseball and softball. With the help of my mentor Ms. Siswick, I was able to pull of the entire event. I bought decorations from party city, my friend Ashley provided the pizza at a low cost and my partner in my capstone Amaris catered the event, providing pastries. I printed out certificates for the athletes and contacted the cached to say something on their behalf. It was a bit hectic because the day of the event three of the sports, including my sport softball. Because of this, had to rearrange the event to fit everyone's schedule. I learned about planning and all of the small things one has to worry about when it comes to big events. I also learned how big of an impact even the smallest detail has on a person’s life. I smile on all of the athletes faces showed me that I was really able to do something that had an impact of them.
